Ive got a buddy thats a volunteer fireman, he's got a couple of small orange light bar things in the bull bars of his surf for when he gets called out He just installed them as a novelty though, no one really moves outta his way or speeds up to the real speed limit through town for him lol and I thought only doctors nurses and/or midwives were allowed the green ones. EDIT From the road code itself: Doctors, nurses or midwives on urgent business may use a roof-mounted green flashing light. If you see these, you must pull over and allow the vehicle to pass.
