  1. Thanks for all that Neal, gives me a list of things to in the next couple of days!

Ive disconnected battery for 10mins, but will do it again and disconnect and reconnect all the modules and amp plugs this time.

Will also disconnect video module and see what comes up on the screen.

DSP - im unsure whats the easiest way to tell? it's a 1996 so one of the first E39's

Can anyone help with this nav coder business?? Jase/Mspec??

Hey Andrew for nav coder you need the software >>Here<< plus the hardware to run with it >>Here<<

  2. Just a heads up and I might be behind the 8 ball compared to everybody else but telecom have changed their broad band plans again. I used to be on a 160gb per month plan and I have changed to the new 500gb per month plan and its actually costing me $6 less per month than before.

There are probably a lot of you out there on unlimited plans and super fast connections but for me I am pleased they have upped what I can get for less even if its only $6. 500gb is a hell of a lot but gotta be worth trying to meet the target each month

  3. Hey guys for those of you that have upgraded to ios 6 and may be just a dumb as me I just wanted to give you a heads up on the do not disturb feature that got me flummoxed yesterday.

I set a schedule on do not disturb then turned the do not disturb feature to on. This is NOT the way to do it, when you switch the do not disturb switch to on its unconditional and you will not receive any sounds of incoming txts and any calls will go straight to voice mail.

If like me you set a schedule just leave do not disturb set to off and the schedule will auto turn on the feature at the time you have set.

Not exactly the best ios upgrade and now the maps really do suck, Don't know why they don't listen and watch the jailbreak community more as there is so much more you can do with our phones but they lock them down so hard you cannot do anything with them.

I have not been having any problems with battery life that I have seen other people talk about.

Seems to be a huge amount of problems with wifi as well but I have not had any problems with that either.

Iphone 5 can stay in the shop, to me it's exactly the same just a little bit taller.

  4. Yeah, shipping for both front and rear including brake pads is $169 US... all in all will work out under $500 NZ which means I won't get stung by tax as well. And this is for drilled and slotted rotors.

be careful as I thought the $400 thing was a myth. A quote from consumer.org.nz

Generally the ITF will apply to goods valued over $400 but at times packages valued at less than $400 will attract the fee.

  5. Hi, no I don't think so. If no light came up on the dash would it still give a fault code?

Yes fault codes can be generated without activating the check lights.

Generic OBD scanning gear won't show what you need. Get it in to a mechanic that has the proper gear and get it scanned.

  6. Should I just buy the part and DIY or worth it to take to Kevin Burt to see whats wrong and fix it which will probably cost a small fortune

That is the million dollar question lol, It being stuck on full points to a stuffed fsu but does not explain the noise you are hearing unless its the noise of it being on full and you are not used to hearing it. Perhaps go to the wrecker and ask if you could swap out your fsu to test if its it and if it is get a new one do not get a cheap one off of ebay get oem :)

  7. Looks real good! As qube said, the colours are perfect!

If it was me I might have put them on a bit more of an angle? But each to their own, you've certianly given me an idea for my car now!

+1 for the angle , don't do the other side though just leave the one side imo.

  8. PS... I have had it on a scanner

(albeit after market) at a mechanic in Queenstown with no faults discovered. I live in Kingston (a one garage town)

    1993' auto, E36 coupe, 155000 miles.

What was the scanner ?? , If it was a generic obdII one then its not going to tell you bugger all, If this is the case it needs a proper scan with proper equipment to really see whats going on.
