    I have no idea what sparked this thread, but it seems like a good place to vent my opinion of this forum. Members of this forum have clearly created their own little in-club which is not at all friendly to new members like myself. Eg I made a post in this thread (where everyone was voicing their disgust about the wheels in the link) where I said that I quite like them, bust mostly because I have a distaste for most of the wheels that are popular amongst the incumbent population here. Why was that deleted? How is my opinion not valid there?

    I guess I was expecting (naively) that a BMW forum would have a modicum of intelligence compared with other car forums, but alas most of the members here are the same breed to be found in the Toyota/Honda/etc forums - the same people who get pleasure from loud exhausts, big shiny wheels and thumping ridiculous sound systems.

    Mike, that was my thread 'bout the wheels and would like to know your opinion as that is one of the reasons i started the thread.

    Since when have candy apples been green???

    Aside from the bumpers being painted, and the wheels, i like- more than dislike the colour.......!

    Candy apple green means, candy paint in a apple green colour, same as candy rootbeer is a rootbeer coloured candy paint.

    All that said i have to say that car is...............no no i will remain polite lol

    Ok, here’s an idea I’m putting into action and I’m asking for the generous support of all Bimmersport members (sorry if that sounds a bit arrogant lol).

    Bit of background as to how i came to this idea. My partners grand daughter is 8 and has leukaemia, she has spent approx 13 of the last 18 months at Starship/Ronald McDonald house.

    As you could imagine it has been no fun or life for an 8 yr old but you have no idea of the resilience of kids, she has taken it all in her stride.

    She is doin’ ok now as she had bone marrow transplant 2 weeks ago and the new marrow is growing so all fingers crossed.

    Now my idea.

    An E39 to be sold for charity with ALL proceeds goin’ to Starship Foundation/Ronald McDonald house, they do more for these ill kids than we could imagine.

    I have the opportunity to acquire (maybe free) an E39 520i (White with black leather) with a rooted auto. If i can get this car i would love to find some sponsors/donations to cover products and materials.

    Ie; Auto box to suit

    Nice set of 17†rims/tyres

    Paint and materials

    ICE

    Anything else we as a ‘net community think of.

    I would like this car to look classy but also slightly modded, will repaint car inside and out ( and i mean RE-paint, meanin’ whats white will be painted)

    All work will be carried out by me, my son and my friends (except where we need expert help, but there isn’t much we can’t do)

    All supporters/sponsors/donators will receive a document stating what is needed and what each company/individual could supply.

    We will endeavour to get a website up and runnin’ so everyone can see the progress of the build.

    Also we will promote the hell out of this car nation wide and we will guarantee exposure for all involved.

    Please let me know your thoughts and ideas.
