Any experience with silverdale radiator products?
sugarfree replied to sugarfree's topic in Maintenance
Ended upbought the radiator and some other parts through fcp euro and get them shipped here for only us$75. I honestly very happy with service and surprised that roughly about a week later I've got the packages. Upon inspection, they actually ship them by air! I dont expect that at all. So, car now has new cooling system and some parts are upgraded to better quality (metal pump). Thanks for your help guys. W -
Any experience with silverdale radiator products?

Now i'm worried. I found another listing with hella/behr brands: https://www.trademe.co.nz/1350275680 Will this fit 2001 e39? I've noticed there are some variations for the earlier e39 and the v8 model. Am I right? cheers, W -
Hi. Just wanting to find some comments from you guys about any experience on this brand that floats around in trademe. My E39 decided to crap the expansion tank last saturday and I've been suspecting a small/tiny leak on the passenger side tank. So, it is time to overhaul the system. I also want to know if there's aluminium thermostat housing and if there's anyone in Akl (or NZ) sells/stocks them? The plan is to future proof it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. willy

They make good doorstops or paperweight...

Ditto. Need this info too. I need to get a place that can clean the cabin evaporator unit and leak testing the whole unit for my civic. Any info would be very helpful.

Looks very nice. I'm still confused with all this aftermarket headunits. What will happen with the OBC setting? Such as the fuel consumptions & travel distance? What about the aux ventilation that I found handy on a hot day? Whe you remove the stock HU, does it mean that you remove the device to control them? Shed me some light if you will. Thanks, W

Is the roof rack still available? T/me listing is expired. Cheers, W

Just bought a wing mirror part from Ray earlier this week. He's very helpful. I will definitely go back to him as I need more parts. -
E39/touring - suspected rear-right busted window regulator
sugarfree replied to sugarfree's topic in Maintenance
Do you mean to change the regulator? How much for a R/R window regulator? can pm me if you want. Cheers. W -
Hi all. My 1st technical post in this place. My 1st bimmer, bought 2nd hand. Not much history about it. Anyway, to the topic, my rear-right door window is seem to be stuck closed. Not sure what's going on. If I press the button down, seems like there's a subtle click from behind the panel. So, I guess, the motor should be fine. Or is not? What is the signs if my motor is busted or if the regulator it self is busted? I haven't tried to crack open the door card yet. Haven't got any guts yet to do it. If its my honda, I'd be puling the glass window out. I'm quite handy with tools and mechanical. But, when it comes to bimmers, I'm kind of chickened out. Worried that I make things worse without a good decent guidance. Anyway, that's all for now. Thanks everyone. WN

Gents. Looking for e39 (2001) rhs wing mirror motor kit/unit with bronze-ish tint. Not quite sure if mine has demister. My motor unit got a few broken plastic parts that was glued together in place. I think I only need the motor unit with all the gears intact. cheers will

I decided to grab it. I need to get this upgrading the car as soon as i can. Anyway, found that the abs sensors been replaced, new radiator tank (pheewww), new rear arm bushes, and few more bits& pieces. Driven it once, and it rides very comfortable. 1st bimmer, and hopefully i have good long years with it. Now, a few problems that i couldnt seems to understand: the remote keys does nothing. 1key gives a red light blipped quickly once, but doesn't do anything. The spare one, do nothing at all. Went online to do a bit of digging on key issues. Found that mine aren't the diamond shaped, but a rounded butt end type with what seems to be 1 big button, & 1 small button (Which one is unlock & lock?). Ive red all about re-initialisation of the chip. But still not confident enough. Need someone to help me on this issue. Next thing is driver side wing mirror couldn't be adjusted. As I adjust with the buttons, i heard the motor noises, but no movement on the mirror it self. The mirrors folding in alright, though. Also, ive read that the region format of the radio can be adjusted. Mine is jap import. If someone can guide me through to change the region, it would be much appreciated. Car's garaged, i haven't use it since. Been using the corolla to work. Anyway, any respond from you guys are much appreciated. Got a big learning curve ahead of me. Cheers
