Welcome and great car to learn on.

If not too fussed and cost is a factor then box them up and send weight and measurements to someone like GT Logistics for a quote.
If damage avoidance is paramount then box them up. Use pool noodles to protect the lips. Package them up on a pallet. There is often some lying round freight properties near the airport that are still in good nick. Load the boxes on it, then place an empty box on top in the middle (not. Too small) . Foil wrap the entire thing, measure and weigh it. Then get freight quote. This will 'ensure' top load in a container which reduces likelyhood of damage. Yes, it costs more.
Anyway, hope it helps.

Thanks Jon
Not looking at series as this would require quite a bit more. Most likely trackdays, possibly Targa Tour, Ruakaka, etc. Car only has a half cage.
Thanks for your offer. Let's see how we get on.
... and yeah, will pass on the topic of under garments 😂

Thought I'd ask here first - does anyone have overalls, gloves, HANS device, helmet for sale? My son is looking to get a taste of the track. Large (1.90m-ish, slender)... Cheers!

There's a world of difference between a remanufactured (or new) turbo for a stock application, and the technology involved in developing something for a much higher performance purpose.(I have a new Turbo Technics unit that I'd sell... 😉 )
I am just replacing my current stock unit. It is getting on (245k km).

What is everyone's feeling towards remanufacured turbos? Yeah or nah? There is a crowd in Chch 'TurboCare'. Does anyone have experience with them?

Can you / someone school me on what the different stage tunes are. I know there is chatgpt but I'd rather learn it from family.

Reviving this thread - can anyone recommend a quality insurer for a road legal, race going, 1997 e36? Bit in between a classic with race/rally extension.

Thanks all - might have to go and become a member after all. 😂

I would seriously consider getting a new one. Seam condition will always be a gamble.

went for a tune…but belt wasn’t tight enough so Melted it and destroyed it.
also intake temps were hitting about 120-130, so looks like it’s time to add a water to air cooler integrated into the manifold. So, how are you cooling it at the moment?

Engine Parts Cleaning
in Maintenance

Hi all
Looking for recommendations to get engine parts professionally cleaned in Auckland. My usual person can't do it - recommended an ultrasonic clean. It is a couple of intake manifolds with gunked up diesel sludge.
Cheers, Julian
