I almost purchased a 1987 NZ new 318i coupe a few weeks ago. 146Kms or there abouts. Seller wanted $1200 for it, it then went on to sell on TM for $2800.

Hello, what is needed for it to pass it's next WoF?
-
a big f*ck off dog

Nope. but i always sit in the back.

I've been using this for a few weeks now. So far so good.

Yeah I try to make sure that they need a car to travel to where we meet, so I know which car they came in. Note down rego etc. Do you guys ride with the test drivers when they come to view/test?

When selling a car, i try to choose a neutral location, like my office car park so that they don't know where i live. Honestly, i don't want strangers knowing where i live if they don't really have to.

Wow, offered to me for $1200 and i turned it down. sold on TM for $2870

that's a strong lamp post

Fair enough. I've passed on it as it's a 2-door and auto. Looks nice though.

How much do you guys reckon it's worth? Silver (straight body, no dings) Cloth interior, very tidy, just a tear in the middle of the driver's seat, small crack on dash NZ new M10 motor, done 145ks 1987

Hi folks, I'm on the lookout for a tidy (not mint, just tidy) E30 for use as a daily driver. Anything considered, must have a WoF please. Preferably in manual but auto is ok and 6-cyl. Oh, please be in Wellington or close by so I can test drive. Not a whole lot of money to spend though. So a nice tidy stock/lightly modified E30 should fit the bill Cheers

Hey thanks, stiff is the word to describe it.

Awesome. Worked a treat. It's a Jan 87 built car. M10 engine. Thanks for that link!

Can i tell the engine code from the VIN/Chassis #?
-
Thanks for the input guys. Yes it's an auto. This is the first time i've driven an E30, does the gas pedal really feel heavy on these cars or is the spring just too hard? I found myself applying a lot more oomph than i normally would to get the car to accelerate. Where do i check the engine code, would it be on the VIN plate in the engine compartment? Had a bit of ruist on the inside of the boot, is this something that would fail the WoF? Cheers fellas!

Hi All, I'm looking at a 1987 NZ new 318i, 2-door coupe, 4-cyl 1800cc. Is this car supposed to have a cambelt or camchain? The current owner believes it is a chain, but i think it's got a belt. What other issues should I look out for on this car? It's nice and straight, but feels a tad bit sluggish on take off. Cheers
