  1. Definitely an interesting idea, but yup not quite what I'm after. The escort hinged seats is the same design as in the original minis, roughly, isnt it??
  2. Yup exactly I knew I'd lose reclining, but I was hoping I would be able to keep the forward/back movement, as well as up and down. Although I just thought I'd keep those two movements since I assumed they must both act on the bottom rail but not sure.
  3. Nope it's a 4 door, and I'm probably just going to change the driver's side seat.
  4. I'm looking for any advice or past experiences anyone might have about fixed back bucket seats so any information you can provide would be much appreciated. I have an e36 325i and am looking into putting in a fixed back bucket seat in. However, my dad uses the car a lot as well, so we would like to keep the original electronic seat controls. I'm unsure whether or not this is possible and if I will need to get a special adaptor bracket or if the one that comes with the seat will do the job?? The final thing I'm not sure about is if the seat will need to be cerified or not after I put it in? Thanks For Any Advice David
  5. Thanks for all the input!! We'll check out the age and scallops - I'm not 100% convinced it is the tyres but haven't found anything else wrong yet. Interesting how opinions change on tyres - I've previously thought BMW's were quite sensitive to tyre issues - is this a confirmation? I'll let you know what we find. Ray,
  6. Yup was definitely a big move. The whole reason was my dad, he came he for his honeymoon and loved it so when an opportunity arose he got a job over here so we packed up and left.
  7. Hopefully will be there but might have a race of my own I race in Formual First. Every time the BMWs race with us I always go and watch the racings so close and good to see sooooo many out there!!
  8. I'm living in Manurewa in South Auckland if you know where that is.And I've been here for nearly five years now so I'm quite used to the kiwi sense of humour.
  9. Yup i'm trying to get some pics up soon for my profile, but i cant find the damn cord to transfer pics onto the computer. But from as far as i could tell eveything looks stock. I've looked under the car and couldn't see anything that looks altered at all. As someone else mentioned I do like the sound of it and it goes well too so it's not a problem just a curiousity.
  10. I recently got an e36 325 SE. I'm completely baffled as to why its exhaust seems to be abnormally loud??? Out of all the other e36s we tested before buying the car, most were other 325s or 328s, this cars exhaust was much louder throughout the entire rev range. The car seems to run fine and when lying under the car it all looks good no apparent signs of an exhaust leak or anything of that sort. Any ideas that anyone has would be greatly appreciated as I am very curious about the reason. Thanks, David
  11. Hi, I'm David and I am a big BMW fan and have recently got a BMW 325 SE that i share with my dad. We really like the car, it does have a few minor issues, but we still love it. In the past my dad has owned 3 other BMWs, an e46 330i an e34 535i (which he raced in a BMW club in the USA) and last but not least an e39 540 wagon. A while ago we moved to New Zealand from the USA and are really liking it out here. Looking forward to chatting to everyone on Bimmersport Sincerely, David
