  1. Morning all, the last couple of weeks I have noticed, only on the first couple of cold starts in the morning, my M52B28 loves to emit a rattle for literally a second or two then it goes away. Its hard to pin-point in the engine bay because its over with so quick - anyone heard anything similar before? Its quite a chattery rattle if that makes any sense.

Car has been serviced well and had only done 102ks.

Maybe starter motor? Mine seems to a make a bit of noise on cold starts sometimes ,just for a split second.

  2. Yes, it can be done. But you need to replace the whole shifter and not just the knob as there are a few small differences between the shifter arm and mechanism on early and late cars. There are writeups on the net, a search on Google should help you out.

Cool thanks ! will check it out

  3. Sweet I'll take a look at checking that out as well. I read that it is quite hard on the back? From the instructions i've read I just need to remove the glove box to make it easier, and then disconnect the duct pipes and i should be at the filter?

Have just changed my filter using these instructions :

Glove box removal is for LHD cars !

Only takes about 20mins to do . Mine must have been about 10years old! Was completely black

    Hope this helps

  4. Motor or reg? Have both.

Not 100% sure, someimtes the window doesnt work at all, other times the window wont go all way up by itself.

The motor also sounds quite whiney !!

How much for both ? Also can you guarantee good working order ?

    Thanks for quick response

  5. Hi,

I have an E36 1996 coupe, and I bought clears from Eurolights. Eurolights is a bloke who sources from Carwear in Australia (www.carwear.com.au), whatever you buy is shipped direct from Carwear to you. Now, I bought twice from these people, the first was to buy the front quarters and side clears only. One of the quarters (RF) did not fit quite right, so after I sent photos to prove my point, they sent a replacement. About 2 weeks later I bought again; just the rears only. You would not read about it - the parcel was lost in the post! To this day has not been seen. However, they replaced and sent a second parcel, this time it was track and trace, and it turned up ok. I have to say, the clears certainly improved the look of the car, no issues there! I was impressed with the service, particularly from the Carwear people when I contacted them, their service you really could not fault. My 2c, FWIW. Cheers.

    Hi, Thanks for your imput.

I dont think ill try the trademe ones - seems a bit of a hassle.

    Cheers

  6. Now i know there have been lots of talks on this website about different lowering springs etc , but what i really want to see is pics of your e36 describing what size wheels, type of springs/shocks and if what you have done is legal etc etc ....

I am still thinking about getting super low jamex springs fitted but have heard mixed reviews ????

Here is a pic of mine :

    Wheels/tyres - 225/40/18-8

    Springs/shocks - Factory Msport

Look- Not low enough in my opinion ,ride could also be stiffefend up somewhat !!

Show us yours , dont forget to give detailed description of wheel size etc.

Sorry couldn't upload pic, can view on my profile pic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
