  1. Come along to the Christchurch meet and illustrate your problem, someone might be able to shed some light on it.

In neutral and at proper operating temperature what RPM does your car idle at?

Forgot to mention also had thermostat replaced , Car idles at about 700RPM not much more when cold ,the thing is the rev counter looks pretty steady even when car shaking ?

  2. I was going to suggest that I check it for you... out of the question though.

I'd get it scanned first and go from there

Hi , have just got car back from garage in chch and still problem exists ! seems to be only when car is up to full running temp and randomly whether or not car is in gear. Seems to still drive ok but can still notice slightly at lower revs. Mechanic did not seem too have any ideas as too why ? Scan was ok - no faults. Have had full service oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs. Starting too get pretty annoying ,any suggestions would be great thanks???

  3. Hi any help would be much appreciated, I have noticed lately that when i come to a stop at the lights/intersections etc . My car will have a slight shake while foot is rested on brake and still in the drive(D) posistion, if i change into neutral(N) or park(P) seems to go away which makes me think it could be the transmission. Car seems to be running pretty good apart from this annoying problem.

    Vehicle is a 1996 328i

    Thanks

  5. What rubbish :P The wheels and tyres are probably 10-15mm taller in overall diameter than OE. The offset is high enough to sit the wheels inside the car without any hint of rub. Even with a good set of lowered springs in there that will drop the car another 40mm there will be no rubbing, even with the wheels on full lock and a car full of people. Having done over 100 E36's on various size wheels and various brand lowering springs I can safely say that with that size wheel and tyre combo you can safely lower your car without any issues!

PS A set of lowering springs will probably drop your car by about another 25mm

Thanks will keep this in mind you are correct about size difference, i checked this thoroughly before i purchased new tyres and from factory m/sport 225/50/R16 my new tyres are about 10mm larger in diameter.

    Cheers !!

  6. Hi i am thinking of lowering my 96 328 motorsport and wondering what springs others have used ,as i am not too keen to have guards rolled etc. I have 18x8 wheels 225/40 tyres. Looks pretty good on factory motorsport springs but would like ride to be stiffened up and the front come down a bit .Any help especially pics would be much appreciated ,Thanks.
