Don't think it would go that far in NZ, although in saying that, there's a lot of unnecessary petty crime that goes on here that really doesn't need to. For instance, car theft - I started a thread recently about my brother's Euro R being stolen in Wellington, which was found the next day on the other side of town missing all the factory Euro R bits and some other stuff (stereo, front seats, Defi gauges, gear knob, aaaaaaand the floor mats!) which is pretty bloody pathetic. The car ended up being written off because of the replacement value of the seats! Back home, nobody would have seen the car again, it would've disappeared into a township, stripped of anything of value and burnt to a crisp before you even report it as stolen!

Carjacking should not be occuring in New Zealand. Coming from South Africa and having had my old man being carjacked and shot this is kind of shocking. If it was a country like South Africa I would suggest never leave home without your gun .38 .44 Glock 19 etc but there really is no need for that. The worst thing you could do is provoke a carjacking situation it seems. The guy who got carjacked should of stood his ground a little though. It is your property so protect it. I know some people who have died for less in saying that. Shocking
Those window washing pricks at the lights make me paranoid, don't trust 'em as far as as I could kick 'em.

^ problem is it's not just tourists.I'm afraid to say
new[many] immigrants from regions that have different driving standards than we require are just as bad. This is true, but also, driving standards aren't THAT different around the world, driving like some f**kwits do here wouldn't be acceptable anywhere in the world, surely?? I admit I'm a very impatient driver, but only because there's one set of rules for all motorists that really aren't that hard to follow yet a large portion of the population are, well, pretty f**king useless!
Just by a fluke chance too, my rego happens to be FFS*** which couldn't be more appropriate for me, probably my most common phrase whilst driving!

My E28 pinged on 91, it's an M20B27 though and has quite high compression. Changed to 95 and hasn't pinged since. As above, if the head has been skimmed, compression will be a tad higher possibly causing the pinging. Good thing fuel is cheap at the moment!

Car was found early this morning in Khandallah, smashed driver's window, and minus the factory Recaros. No doubt a f**ked ignition too. Imagine stealing a car for the f**king seats, c**ts!

It's a 2001, championship white is the colour. Factory wheels etc, wouldn't really stand out amongst a lot of them. Motherf**kers, it'll probably be burnt to a crisp by now! He's only had it for a couple of weeks too! No need for petty sh*t like this in NZ. Oh and it was taken from the main street through Newtown, Riddiford I think.

Afternoon chaps
My Brother's Honda Torneo Euro R has been stolen from Newtown in Wellington overnight. Registration is FZD381. On the odd chance that any of you good lads have seen it, or have any sort of info flick me a PM, would be much appreciated.
Cheers

I'd be keen on some black stickers too if there's any left. Also organised my own plates, but haven't put them on the car yet because it bugs me that the stickers are wrong!

Same here, '87 525ee and I don't have it either. Mine also stalls occasionally, but only when I haven't warmed it up.

I have noticed that you guys keep on top of it to be fair, people are getting quick to point out the rules too. As the saying goes though, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink!

The calibre of people on the FB page seems to be mostly drop kicks who want everything for nothing, and a lot of "juz seein wots out ther, offerz or swops 4 sumthn slammed". However, I've recognised a few people on there from BS, stick out like sore thumbs amongst the rest! (In a good way). I find this forum to be very helpful and full of knowledge from people who are willing to share it, and pretty much an all-round friendly bunch.

Agreed, E21s don't seem too popular in the BMW community but personally I'd love a 323i, that particular one would look great next to the E28
