Got spun a huge yarn about this car dealers E34 540i. Told me it was the only "M" Spec one in NZ, so I asked him if it was a 540iS, he said it was... I asked if it was 6 speed manual? no, it's auto. (had no 'm' kit ect) His reasoning for being genuine "M" Spec... It had a shifter knob not a "T" shaped shifter on the auto. Oh, and I bought an oil filter, prepairing to do an oil change this weekend
