  1. Hi everyone - as title states, I'm on the lookout for E39 facelift headlights, preferably xenon. Let me know if you have some or anywhere locally that supplies them. Cheers, Alex Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Would be happy to help but I am a 99' owner!
  3. Glad the track mode button came in handy. Suits it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1999 Avus Blue M5

Hi Bimmersport, Yesterday I took ownership of a very special //M - The E39 M5. It was a rather irrational purchase, though I couldn't be happier in hindsight. I picked the car up in Wellington. It's done 150,000kms and the previous owner had it since 37,000kms with full service history. I plan to keep this car long-term and no major plans aside from putting on facelift goodies + muffler delete. ** A big thanks to Martin (BreakMyWindow) and Ray @ HellBM for all the help and advice! Catching up with another Avus Blue owner on the way up: Sitting at home next to the E46:
  6. Hey everyone, Yesterday I flew down to Wellington to collect my 1999 BMW M5. Before heading on my way back to Auckland, I caught up with Aaron "str8_6" to grab a few pictures of our matching M5's. I've just started a project thread which I'll update in due course.
  7. Haha that doesn't exactly accomplish anything aside from having two bad ass coupe's! I have to agree that the E60 is certainly better bang for your buck, though I've never been a fan of the styling and those SMG gearboxes are horrendous! Mind you, a V10 for 30k is pretty hard to argue with.
  8. 26k isn't bad at all. Do you know any other good examples which have sold recently as a benchmark? Pretty open on colour combinations (though not a huge fan of Silverstone Blue). Very keen on getting a face-lift. Indeed manual can be a pain but I'm pretty used to it in the E46. I'd hope the clutch on the E39 is a little lighter / less springy? Cheers
  9. Cheers for your input! I certainly think that will be the biggest issue. DaveO's was a beautiful example for sale last year. Do you know what his went for in the end? I know he was asking 30k. Not in a rush to get a new car just yet, but certainly in the market.
  10. Afternoon Bimmersport, I've recently sold my E92 M3 which currently leaves me with a trusty old Volvo V70 (workhorse for transporting things) and E46 M3 (Plan to become more track focussed). I've had a long and hard think about another purchase to complement the E46. I initially thought about getting a Mk6 Golf GTI due to its practicality and easy power, however after test driving one, it didn't leave a smirk on my face like the E46 does every time I hop in. Some of you might ask why I don't just daily the E46? Well, since the mod bug has got the better of me, I have inevitably made it more impractical with low suspension, a firmer ride, and significantly louder exhaust. While this is still acceptable on the daily, I continuously come back to the idea of purchasing a sedan with softer suspension and something which can take a few mates in the back if I choose to go away for the weekend. From what I can see, the E39 M5's have bottomed out price-wise (much like the E46), so depreciation isn't going to be a major concern. I'm also not too concerned about the horrendous consumption as I only do around 10,000kms a year and work pays for any mileage incurred during the week. I realise the Vanos issue needs a lot of TLC and I'm currently in the process of reading numerous buyers guides. I'd love to get your thoughts on this idea and please share contact details with anyone who has an E39 they are considering selling. Cheers in advance.
  11. Hello everyone, Thought I'd post this on the forum to see if anyone is interested. For sale is a personalised plate suited for those who own an M vehicle, particularly a 1M, though the "I" can also be seen as a spacer. At present, the plate is in standard issue form however I can have this remade in Euro style at anytime. Feel free to share with anyone outside of the forum who might be interested. Asking price: $1,800 ONO. Mock up plate ideas below. I photo-shopped the M stripes decal into the last image which I question the legality of however if it's a weekend car, you might get away with it Call or text 021 070 9077 for more information. Cheers, Alex
  12. Can't really complain. Was hoping for 45 but not too far off the mark and went to a good home.

  14. Hi Bimmersport! I'm sure you've spotted this already if you're in the market, but nothing like a little shameless self promotion. Here is a link to my E92 M3 closing at 8:30pm tonight. It could go for a bargain, who knows. Would love it to go to a forum member! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=905279028 Cheers, Alex

  21. I've had this lying around and never got round to installing. This suits 2008+ E9X Manual M3's. It cost around $600 landed from the states. $400 or nearest offer takes it. Exert from Turner: "Get MORE HORSEPOWER and TORQUE on your 2008, 2009 and newer M3 coupe, sedan or convertible by replacing the stock crank pulley with this specially designed performance version. The Power Pulley reduces rotational mass and safely under drives your belt driven auxiliaries for reduced parasitic power loss. The end result: More power to your M3's rear wheels! Designed to give the best performance benefit with no sacrifices or compromises to your BMW's reliability. These have been tested on hundreds of cars before public release and there are simply NO DOWNSIDES to this upgrade. CNC machined using aircraft grade 6061 aluminum billet, and anodized with a stealthy black coating. Others may advertise "their" crank pulley boasting higher numbers (using a smaller pulley profile), but we have concluded that for street and track driven M3s, this is the best size and design to ensure proper engine temp and auxiliary functionality. As the S65 M3 V8 engine doesn't use a traditional harmonic balancer, all factory harmonics and dampening are fully and properly retained. We've found this pulley alone adds 10 to 14 HP and 7 to 9 Ft/lbs Torque on a stock M3 with no other mods(!!)."
