So have been looking at wheels and have semi decided on LM Reps.
But have a few ideas kicking around and have come across some style 121 bmw wheels but they are black, never really been a fan of black rims, but they could really be good? definately different.
Can someone gloss black these rims for me? either one will do, bottom one looks easier.
This is the downside of being a linux user i suppose.
i know they are tourings but they have the rims.
yes i know they will need to be bored out

Have an older set on my car, front facing only but i dont think youd need rear ones tbh.
If you sped past a cop on the side of the road and didnt notice him theres sonething wrong.
+1 would trade again

Do you know anyone working at red bull?
Mate of mine went over a few years ago when he was managing a bar in akl, mentioned to his red bull rep that he was going, put in a word and got him a pit pass, managed to get in and see the redbull car/drivers
Its all about the hook ups.
-
What engine do you have?
I thought the Dr vanos kits fixed it too?
-
Spray your towbar matte black, or the closest colour you can get to the rear bumper piece.
And the ball cover, spray that too, blends in quite nice then.
Oh i plastidip sprayed mine first too, that way it peels off should you sell it etc.

Noice..
German Kollision Haus are good, pricey but worth it.
Also there is a shop right across the road that are good too, quoted me 650 for a bonnet and front bumper respray including guard blending.
-
Likewise both mine on & looking great...1 surround broken but usable
One of my clips was broken too, although i cant remember if it was broken or i did it..
-
Can you not take them out completly for wof?
-
Came early this morning. thanks.
Hopefully getting my front bumper resprayed and cleaned up next week as the front is chipped to f@#k.
Anyone ditched the plate holders and used strong double sided tape?

Yes buying your phone AND ipad/tablet, double the sales.I have often thought that Apple / Samsung / whoever is missing a big market here .......
Bring out a Double Din Headunit frame that holds their smartphone, and voila you have a whole group of car owners buying your phone ......
And then somehow use the phone as a parrot type thing that can sync to your tablet for hands free? Driving mode etc

Not a bad wee project for winter..

The OEM in dash monitor is exactly that JUST a monitor.
All the graphics are generated by the tv/video module in the boot.
it is a complex/expensive but not imposible retro fit (at least 2k)
alternative would be to install a dynavin unit which fits straight into the space and doesn't require all the other modules.
You seen that guy on bimmerforums that fitted a Samsung galaxy tab in there instead?
Used a obd2 bluetooth dongle to read live data.
Put a simcard in it to make calls etc.
Has nav with google maps.
-
Wasnt he Korean? And was doing all the work himself?
Looks weird and not my cup of tea.
-
Dont think its as easy as a complete swap?
Wont have any nav functionality or tv.. need a harness and a variety of other parts.

Has been on here over 13-14months.

Cheers mate..
Looking forward to shiny new plates to go with my shiny new lights!

Hmm i thought it was a new unit that fixes it.Apparently there is a repair for the vanos knock, It seems quite promising, but also rather labour intensive. Lots of info on Bimmerforums.com about it.
I know the Dr vanos guy doesnt have a kit for the v8's.
Revving past 3k a few times is recommend in the service manual apparently.
-
^ have done that too.
Lots of goodies.
Apparently a nz shop here? - http://www.trademe.co.nz/services/trades/a...n-438874174.htm
Obviously wont have all stock on hand but who knows, anyone used them?

No time due to buying some farms in the wairarapa?
Why not use bm workshop in grey Lynn.
Could drop it off on the way to work and bus the rest of the way then pick it up on the way home?
Just be a little late to work, saves getting ticketed 200 for no wof.
Not sure of any places on the shore

So i pulled the coils and checked my plugs last night.
6 out of 8 were loose enough to turn by hand, and 7 had carbon build up, one was missing a prong which was worrying.
4 had oil gunk on the sides.
Still waiting on my ngk to arrive, ones in the car are all Bosch.
Going to do valve cover gasket and get the covers re done hopefully next week
Engine is amazingly quiet, aside from the Vanos knock, which cant be heard when the engine cover is on.
-
Oh how did you get on with your beam pattern?
I put a mark on my garage wall then changed them and matched it up, might be a little out.
The guy let me focus them last time.
-
Yeah emailed him.Mmmmm! Sparkely!
My Mrs didn't notice... but she asked what the boxes were for. I told her it was some bits for the headlights, because they would fail a warrant sooner or later... That's my excuse!
Hope that loom arrives soon, so you're all ready to go!
Should have it by Tuesday..
