  1. +1 dont use smith and smith, i had my e39 windscreen replaced and had to take it back 3 times as it was whistling around 65kmh behind the dash somewhere. eventually they gave in and ordered in one from bmw. mine had rain sensing wipers and the defrosting bars for the window wipers.. think it cost around $1100? insurance, not me. Which was good as my insurance was only $800 per annum

Whoops, I'm in Auckland. Sorry. Vq25det m35 stagea. Also if any e34 tourings are for sale I'd be interested :-)
  3. Anyone recommend a good Nissan place to get a car checked over? And potentially use as my future mechanic if it turns out ok? In Auckland area, prefer central/west auckland but if they are worth a drive thats ok.

  8. ^ cant be a real enthusiast if you dont know all bmw rims from memory haha
  9. Have had exactly the same thing happen. Solved it by unpluging the battery, leave it for 10+ minutes, hook it back up and stereo volume works. This is a fix for a few electrical gremilns.
  10. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=517749100 Worth fixing or big headache?
  11. The fb sync was available on sgs2, is really good if your fb friends have put their cell number in their info, then if they change numbers it automatically updates.. very handy.
  12. You update the software with the valentine, so in effect even though it looks like its from the 90's it will never be obsolete so to speak.
  13. Very hard to come across.. And a lot of people looking for them. Expensive brand new, had the same problem earlier this year but mine was a rabbit, i just gave up.
  14. Seems a lot of standard cars get superchargers over there..
  15. Maybe he owes Dominic Toretto a ten second car?
  16. Realistically will you be doing drag races? The v8 isnt that quick, has a great amount of torque and power when up and going, not that great from a standstill. And is the deciding factor in your car purchase 0-100 times? E39 is a heavy car, 1800kg+ has a fair amount of understeer, has a steering box, i just went through a set of rear tyres in under 6000km. 330 will be better handling wise and more nimble.
  17. Get the 2 rear mufflers taken out and replace it with straight 3" pipe, leave the resonator in place though. Has a great sound above 3000rpm but quiet enough when drving normally, also passes wof

  20. A++ have these in my 540 dont get many hits down here but would get a few a week back up in akl, picks up the in-car laser on the cop cars, first time i really knew it worked it went off and saw a cop in his car hiding behind another car, was going around 68 in a 60. Slowed down to 60, turned the jammer off, and he clocked me doing 60. No ticket, although he did give me a good stare
