I've bought E36 318i with A/C which is not working. Previous owner is from Dunedin and he didn't need A/C over there . First what I did is to check that all parts are there. Also A/C belt is OK. But when I press A/C button fan doesn't start to spin or I cannot hear that A/C compressor is kicking in (maybe clutch is gone??). Also I'm not sure if there is any gas in A/C. Can somebody help me to see what is problem to decide is worthy to fix it or not? Thanks

Hi Everyone, I'm Mario from Lower Hutt. Recently I have bought E36 318i '94 M43B18 for my wife. I have company car so my wife got better deal . We got this car very cheap because A/C is not working and that is not important for my wife. Later on I will may be fix that it's too expensive. We have come in NZ year and half ago and now I'm totally confuse where to look for any parts for it. So far I've been looking on trade me but I would appreciate if somebody can tell me in which shops I can look for stuffs for BMW? Now we have problem with thermostat which is stuck in open position so I have to replace as soon as possible. I have order thermostat from Austria for $60, is that good deal or I've made a mistake? Also where I can here buy BMW coolant and that stupid 'washer for engine drain plug' or I don't need to replace it? Thanks Here are car pictures:
