K guys probably gona have to increase my price range and save for a little, just as buying standard and mspecing later is probably gona cost more in the long run. The black 328 from this forum,had a few things I wernt happy with mainly the jerk from 1st to 2nd gear though,may consider it but looking more inclined to spend a wee more now.

Looking for a company that can do Pre purchase inspections and drive out to the locations. Rather get someone that knows about BMW's more than say AA.

That 328 i took for a drive on saturday im pretty sure that was german built one, and the flaring between the 1st and 2nd gear was horrendous, think ima stay away from the jatcos if they are even more likely to get this problem

Cheers for the input, think im not gona go lower than the 323 though, pretty keen for the next step up from 2.5, but would still be content with the 2.5. Im basically set on finding a low k 328 standard coupe and adding M spec options as I go along, unless 1 thats already mspec comes along in my price range which I would be open to 323,328's 2 and 4 door. Sorry for spamming hard, now I got a better idea on what I want ,this thread will be alot more sensible. Link us to the 320i anyway duck keen to have a looksie.

Yep that was the next question I was gona ask. How do they way up to the normal ones, and would it cause issues if needed to be fixed.

Wow info central, cheers guys. I guess ill ask the car owners of the bmws that say place of origin :japan for the VIN. Would you guys say it really matters? Theres something about a German made BMW that sits with me better (completely based on nothing, but would be keen to learn if either has benefits)

Ok so I really shouldnt pay attention to the origin of the car as if it says Japan it really doesnt mean it was made in Japan.

Ahh ok I just thought when carjam says japan as the first place of origin that it meant it was made there, as even with my NZ new 323 it said the place of origin was Germany

Could someone give us a breakdown of all the differences that matter between the 2. The only 1 I know if that I have came across e36's jap built that were belt driven but not with the Germany ones.

Hmm Dunno eh im pretty keen on the lowish k's eh . Just got back from checking out the blue 328i that was recommended in the first post, it had problems in the first gear changing to the 2nd, it would like jump to real high revs then jump into the next gear which made the whole car jerk (even after it warmed up a little bit.) cosmetics wern't too bad, apart from the sunroof was scratched quite bad,and a spot of paint peelage on the top. All in all not gona get it unless these problems are easily fixed. Still very very very keen to get a 328 4 or 2 door with msport options asap

Well I fully plan on when I find out if the specs and looks of it pass the test. Never bought a car without taking it for a spin.

Was thinking bout offering him 6k. then saving up abit and geting new rims and mspec suspension for it. 4 door 328 when over 6k so not interested, someone tell me I did the right thing lol, bided all the way up to 6k.

Ok bbs how much is an average price for the mspec suspension, wheels,body kit? oh rotty thats yours , was prety interested eh, but the k's put me off.

decent idea. The main mspec options I want is this suspension (im guessing it will be lower with this?) and the body kit,not fussed wether the rims or mspec or not but I do want decent looking rims other extras that would be nice is the leather trim mspec interior and maybe a spoiler later down the track. what about this car? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-292572717.htm
