  1. Decided against it, thanks for the advice. Gonna keep looking but for another 3 series instead with the Msport.
  2. Sorry man really looking for something under 100,000 k's
  3. All the 530d or 530i are either out of my price range for the nicer looking low k ones or done too many K's for my liking and look too standard.
  4. Thanks Got a 15 limit so dont think I could afford anything more than this.
  5. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=865876186 Looking to upgrade from my e36. Note, the listing does say there is a defect in the steering wheel electrical adjustment .
  6. Yep, they don't tilt forward. They are the electric seats, the driver side one works fine. Cool thanks guys.
  7. I've got a e36 328i coupe and I can no longer use the passenger side to hop in the backseat. The Little latch on the side of the seat feels like its not catching onto anything any more and no longer works

    Petrol Cap

Not really sure if I'm posting in the right section but where's the best place to grab a genuine (if possible) petrol cap for a e36 3 series? Had a quick look on trademe and one part showed up in Chch, just checking if there's a better option.
  9. I hadn't driven my E36 for a month and the battery died which resulted in what seems to be a whole system reset. My key fob would no longer activate my central locking or alarm. I've been trying to reprogram it using every procedure I've come across on the net but nothing has worked so far. Here a few things I've tried: Have been leaving the battery disconnected so I open the boot and reconnect. The car's hazard lights will start flashing with no siren (haven't heard the siren ever since the battery died anyway). Then I tried a number of procedures: Open the boot, open the drivers door, get in and close door, put key in and turn to 'on' (dashboard lights up) five times quickly, open drivers door and close again (the alarm light on the centre console flashes differently, I haven't been able to tell how), pull key out (have leaved in as well) and using my three button key I hold the unlock while pressing the lock button three times then let go and see the remote light slowly flash, get out of the car and either close the drivers door or leave it open and go close the boot and then the drivers door if I need to. Test the remotes and never work. The siren doesn't chirp after the five key on-offs. Same thing when I try more simple procedures without the boot open or much door opening and closing. I feel like I'm close with the way the alarm central console light changes its flashes; it varies between a consistent on-off and two or three quick on-ons before one longer off. I think there was only one time I started the procedure and the car didn't have its hazards flashing and the alarm light on. Does anyone know any other procedures or if something might be wrong with the car?
  10. The main key was working before the car's battery died. We're pretty sure its the key not being initialised with the car now. BUt then again, we haven't tried the second key yet. The key can start the car and the car working fine. SO now it's a matter of making the remote control the central locking. We've tried a number of reset methods, none to any avail. One was to close all doors and trunk with car unlocked (car isn't officially unlocked though since there's no way I can open the passenger's door from the inside or outside with no keyhole), then opening the boot, opening the drivers door, getting in, closing drivers door, insert key into ignition and turn to "nearly on" (second to last stop) five times, opening the drivers door and closing it, so the alarm light on the centre console starts flashing (which im sure still only flashes without the last door open and close) then either press any button on the remote or press and hold the unlock button while pressing the lock button three times which makes the remote button light turn on and off three times. Despite all this, the car still doesnt seem to sync with the remote.
  11. Urgently need help on this guys, there is no aftermarket immobilizer.
  12. Seems to be confusion on what's causing this, could some point me in the right track to get it sorted (the person to take the car to). Or a sure way of 100% checking my car doesn't have an after market immobiliser.
  13. Still really stuck with this one. Pretty sure the previous owner gave me the impression that there was no aftermarket alarm/immobiliser installed.
  14. Wouldn't say the AA mechanic had done anything wrong. He put a new battery in but the car still wouldn't start before he had to bypass the imobilizer. It seems like the car needs to be reset or reconfigured.
  15. Not sure at all what has happened. I can't even get the petrol cap to open. Just wanting to know how the hell I can get it all sorted out
  16. Yep stock standard man. Anyone encountered this before?
  17. Hey guys so I have been driving another car while the owners were away in another country and didn't give any attention to my e36 328i for a few months. Get back to it and won't start. The battery is completely dead and over 10 years old so the AA guy installs a new one. The car still won't start so the mechanic says he has to bypass the built in imobiliser to start the car (involved taking a lead off the battery turning the car on then turning the ignition once he placed the other lead on). This seemed to be a temporarily fix as the car won't start again and has all types of weird things going on. -Hazards turn on by them self -key wont unluck doors -cant open the petrol cap Just wondering whats the best way to get this sorted as the local mechanic said its not a job for him and the local electrician said it's not for him and should be dealt with by a BMW agent.
  18. Sweet, Mag and Tyre didnt seem to have these in stock. Could any recommend some where in Auckland, preferably North Shore (not essential) that would stock these or something similar.
  19. Hey guys, just wondering whats the best affordable option for retyring a few of these wheels. I can never remember the rims measurements so just decided to post up a pic seen you guys will know
  20. Sweet, ive had a quick look online and a tad confused on how to do it, Im quite a noob , would you guys suggest taking it to my mechanic? Roughly how much should it cost?
  21. The brake lights have 2 bulbs each right? Im certain its not the bulbs some were replaced not too long ago and when I tested none of the break lights came on.
  22. So been getting the brake light circuit error on my little display screen, checked all my lights, they all work except for the brake lights. Was going to just take it in to the mechanics but was wondering if theres an easy fix I could do myself?
  23. going to cost me 4.5 for my car. Hes charging like almost 1g to replace the bumper and repaint it etc. So I might get my own bumper and take it to him. He said they have to all the front mouldings ,new radiator etc. The other car is most probably written off. fml.
