  1. BS without the old guys would be useless.

Glenn is easily the most knowledgable here...

Whilst some of us young guys may know E30's inside out, we wouldn't have a hope in hell working on the likes fo an E60?

Theres no point in all at going "oh you don't know how to do that ect ect" to someone, Just let them try and fail, that's the only way to learn in this existance.

And the majority of cars on here are E30's....

  2. So when senior people take the piss it's the end of the world?

Without them on here, this forum would go no where at all. Every post would be do a skid bol.

No it would be fine if you could take the piss out of them aswell. But it seems you cant without getting a warning / posting permission removed / thread lock / delete.

Theres been a few cases where glenn has been dishing out sh*t and if you throw it back at him it turns to a sh*t fest.

  3. They are realistically only being that way because they are getting sick of having to repeat themselves on how to go about doing something. I'm sure I've done it myself with some things that I don't know (which is heaps) but come on, for f**k sake they have been doing this sort of things for longer than anyone on here.

Sure, there are different ways of doing things, which are normally more cost-effective etc but there really is no need to start taking the piss when experts repeat themselves over and over.

Its the snide comments that glenn and a few other senior members post which pisses alot of younger members I think, imo. Without those comments I think this would be a much better place.

  4. you have to do suspension anyway if i was you i would just go from under get her up high as you can drop the cross member, bolt it all up on the floor then slide it all under and up hence no paint damage. can you send me the loom diagram you used dude so i can have a look against mine!.

diagram ive been using.... just watch out for the abs wire if your car has abs.

  5. Everyone I have done has been with the gearbox on. Bit of a tight squeeze, but get the car up nice and high, get some angle on the engine and drop it in, you will need a few people to help you probally.

  6. Police sent out an email not long ago regarding this. Ill try dig it up.

Ah nvm, this is somthing different but ill post it anyway:

Title: Police warn of PIN number scam in Wellington

Wellington Police want to identify two people in relation to a PIN number scam being used to obtain money from stolen bank cards. Police say the male and female have been quite convincing with shop staff and warn others not to fall into the same trap.

Cash, wallets and other small valuables have been stolen from backroom office areas by one person while the other diverts the attention of the staff member.

A short time after the pair have left, a phone call is made to the store, with one of the pair posing as a bank representative asking for a bank card PIN number to refund overcharging. The 'representative' gives the staff member the option of visiting the bank in person or conveniently providing the PIN number immediately by phone.

Police say three small business owners in Wellington CBD have made reports and CCTV images of the pair have been provided. The pair are believed to have first obtained property and money from CBD shops on Saturday 9 January.

Police warn all members of the public against giving bank card PIN numbers over the phone to anyone, no matter how persuasive the caller sounds. Shop staff working alone should pay attention to people's movements in their store when helping customers.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Wellington Police burglary squad on 381 2000.

  7. EWS isnt that hard. You need the key, EWS box, and the receiver bit for the key and just need to wire it up. Mike at mosens managed to sort it out on his race car.

You can always get a EWS delete chip aswell + hp boost.

Im not sure about the ASC, but that could pose some problems. You could always get a non ASC wiring loom and ECU and run a EWS chip.

Or convert it to ODB1, and if funds allow get it tuned.

  8. Its says when minimized it drops to 10 MB. Therefore assuming it runs at an 'operating' speed (2gb or whatever you may have) when maximized. So in theory freeing up RAM for other applications to run at their 'operating' speed without interference from Mozilla?

Im no expert but that sounds logical?

Whatever it cant keep in ram, it will keep on the hdd. Hdd's are much slower than ram. When you minimise it anything that cant be fit in the 10mb ram allocation will be written to the hdd, which isnt really a problem. Except if you have heaps of tabs open, then when you maximise it, it has to load the info off the hdd again instead of loading from ram, which means it takes longer to maximise and load the opened tabs.

  9. Arrgh, didnt get around to it....

Had some problems on the boat on saturday, genset crapped out, later on the port engine was down on power and taking ages to come on to boost.

Partially siezed turbo, I can almost fit that torch in the intake.

Anyway, hopefully have some time next weekend to swap the cams over.

  10. Anyone swapped a NV inlet cam to the exhaust side? M50NV inlet cams are the same specs as S50 exhaust, the idea is to swap an m50nv inlet cam to the exhaust side and get the inlet cam reground to s50 specs.

Im gonna give it a go tommorrow...
