The previous owner of my car was an idiot and ran the engine into the ground even though it's only got 160k on it. It was converted from manual so I have no idea how many k's the box has on it but it's incredibly whiney, release bearing is shot, clutch is on it's last legs and it's getting very very crunchy. They'd rounded the filler/drain so when I finally got around to welding a new head on to check I was disgusted when I found only 1cm of fluid in the bottom, leaking from both rear seals. Also I think the engine is leaking at the rear main and a couple of other places...it has a heap of air leaks and runs rough as all hell.
I was planning on doing an M50B25 swap but I don't have all of the funds / time at the moment to do it since this has now become my daily...so I'd prefer to just throw in a reliable replacement engine and box to hang out for another year.
Does anybody have a pair laying around? I'm going to call all the parts places tomorrow and hopefully they can do me a deal. I'm hoping it wont cost too much since they're the two less desired parts.
