  1. Help please! I have a 1990 525i which I have recently converted to manual, besides the noisey gearbox I was sold there has been a new problem which is a stuttering deceleration at about 1500rpm, and with a car with noisey tappets I dont like to get this thing very high in the revs and like to keep it low till its sorted, It happens in the same place, every gear, heres a list of what I have already tried to do to fix this in order of 1st to last - New Bosch Platinums - No change New OEM Dizzy and leads - No change New Bosch Coil - No change New Exedy clutch and pressure plate - Took away the vibrations it had through the clutch Could it be something to do with the gearbox? Because if you release the clutch in neutral it makes some pretty funky noises from the box kind of like a rattling shaking screeching metal noise, I do have a spare Getrag 260 back home in Gis that I can put it but was saving it for a M30, Its starting to get a little costly now and I havent been able to find much on the problem just a few posts with no replies on Euro sites, Thank you very much if you can help and sorry about the ramble, Ben PS. its the M20 engine and it has the Getrag 240 from 520i

  4. Hey im after this list, please post a reply with price and contact numbers, Thanks in advance! E34 Manual Drive-Shaft E34 Clutch Master cylinder Getrag 260 Slave clyinder Either - E34 Manual Gearbox Mount or - Dimensions for one if you have one spare? Am also after a clutch/fly/p plate kit But im not too sure what a stock kit can handle power/torque wise? Any help with this part is welcome too, Cheers, Ben

Hey, I was wondering if there were bigger afm's out there from different models that are universal, Say a 540i has a bigger afm same connections than that on my 525i so then i could use the 540s I remember using this mod on my old st185 celica, used a mr2 turbo one because it was much bigger, Thanks Ben

  8. Yeah its only just hit 200k kms which people say is rebuild time? Thanks for the help too, I just wanted to make sure it was F'd before doing Manual conversion over something easy to fix Ben

Hey, On friday it started, now the car wont even move, its in drive but no matter how much u put ur foot down it just revs now, reverse gear is fine, and when you put it in and out of gear it loads up and will auto roll, On friday it was no-where near as bad, would only "Slip" to redline if u put ur foot down past about half throttle, Please help as this is my only car and getting to work will be hard! I wanna get it fixed though because I have put enough money into a new head and full rebuild already Car: 1990 E34 525i with M20 and Auto Trans. Thanks very much for future responses, Ben
  10. Hey thanks for the input, $303 = new inner and outer tie rods and aluminium control arms left and right I think ill start there and move on, already replaced the shocks with brand new components and springs with Jamex... Will report after i have tried these thanks! Ben
  11. Hey I have a 1990 E34 525i, was just wondering if anyone knows what needs to be replaced when you get that annoying knock from turning the steering wheel one side to the other, just one solid thump, Must be a bush or something, Cheers, Ben
