  1. Nice car and thanks for sharing. Any updates on the car from here?
  2. Hi Team, I have a 135i 2009 and considering some modifications to the N54 engine. Firstly, what would be people's advice on what I should do first? Secondly, has anyone modified one, what did you do, what were the results and how did it effect reliability? Cheers,
  3. Genuine black grills from bmw are $87 each...then you can just swap them back. A can of plastic dip is $30 and you have to make it look flash.
  4. Yeah, about the same price from eBay. Thanks, I am likely going to do the same and run normal tyres. Thanks,
  5. Aaron, that's good to hear. No issue running non flat tyres then? Thanks,
  6. Japan, humidity from Singapore is terrible and have really bad failure rates. I had a friend that was a car deal and gave clear instruction to stay away from Singapore imports.
  7. Thanks for your feed back guys, so far sounds like ditching run flats is still the way to go. Keen to get more feedback from others that have experienced the difference. Once again, awesome to get responses.
  8. Thanks Paul, Where they run flat tyres? And are you sayin tyre shops won't repair run flats? Cheers,
  9. Hi There, I need to buy new tyres for my BMW 135i 2009 and have been reading up on run flat tyres, with most of the information being very negative e.g. Bad handling performance, doesn't last half as long and cost twice as much as normal tyres. The tyre guy, said I should just put standard tyres on and get a can of instant inflation and repair in case of a flat. As obviously the car doesn't have a spare. This seems like a better option due to the performance improvements and the longer last ability (Cost is not a massive deal). I am only worried as BMW recommend RUn Flat Tyres and what effect it will actually have on the car, as I saw a trademe listing for tyres that were accidently put on a BMW which required run flat tyres. Has anyone got any thoughts or recommendations?
  10. Thanks Joe, So you guys no how to fix this and can do it properly? Cheers,
  11. Hi there, I am based in Wellington, can you fix remotely and what is the cost? It sounds like both has happened to my car...I don't have any bass in car and seems like the speaker in the back...from what I have read, the speakers under the seat aren't making sound now. Cheers,
  12. Today I had my firmware upgrade on my 2009 BMW 135I to be like a NZ new model and replace the japan software that it had on it. Everything went fine and I got radio + Navigation through a place in town which does work for our local BMW franchisee. However, on driving away the sound quality was really poor (No bass and really quiet) and the radio reception was really poor....my gut feeling from putting in older style radios in older style cars, was cables were in backwards or similar, but the electrician assured me that could happen with this. He is getting some software/computer to do some testing on Monday...but really interested to know what your thoughts are on this and what may have caused it?
  13. Hi there, I have just purchased a 135i 2009 Coupe with the latest iDrive. It's a Japanese import and it has their software. The guy from BMW said I can just get a firmware update and it will make it the same as NZ new. However, that was in Auckland and I am in Wellington...does anyone know someone in Wellington that can update firmware in my car to change my iDrive to NZ, which will not only give me radio, but also navigation, phone and all the other goodies. Any help would be amazing. Cheers,
