  1. Okay now. Those lights were from the 2 dollar shop. We had them in there on new years drivin round the local beach. They were only there for 2 days.

The numberplate surround is to replace the missing trim in the front where a europlate should go. I know it looks crap but it's so much better than it was. Once i sort out new front kit i'll sort out something better and more permanent.

Trim was painted by me. I know it looks crap. I've just been trying different colours just to check them out. I photoshopped them a couple times but i preferred to see it on the car.

The guards were done by vicegrips lol. I was at my mates workshop when i lowered it. I baseball batted the guards perfectly. Got about an inch more width with no damage thanks to using a hot air gun. Then i tried some 15mm spacers to stop guard rub on the chassis on the inside. Worked a treat but was tiny amounts of guard rub in the fenders. Small flares are on the way so didn't give a toss about making it look crap just so i could drive it.

    Thanks guys

  2. Plus it's manual. Next plans are for a low pressure turbo. It's in the build.

It's got awesome A/C Schnitzer springs in it and it's as low as it can go in the front. Spacers needed for more drop. Back can go down more.

I removed nearly 200 kg out of the interior just by removing sound deadening and carpet with no real noticable increase in noise.

If you're after some interior carpet give me a holler, i might have wot you're after.

  3. Well this is my 318is with 19 inch chromes. Pretty rough but i'm just doing it up. The last owner treated it like crap. He thought the best way to fix an oil leak was to put about 6 litres of oil in cos it took longer to drain out

  4. Yeah. My bimmer cluster lights seem to be quite easy to blow. You should disconnect the negative battery terminal and prevent it from grounding on the car. You're supposed to remove the airbag and i haven't tried this without doing so and wouldn't like to find out why.

Remove the two screws at the top of the cluster near the edge of the clear plastic.

Tilt the top forward and disconnect the wiring harness. There is just a locking lever that holds the wiring harness in place.

Do you need help getting the airbag out?

  5. Okay. Let me get this. If I stick V-tec stickers on my back rims. Will this induce oversteer. A la drifting?

Or do they need to be used in conjunction with a couple of M badges?

I'm also thinking of ordering Custom spec M3 mirrors to inclease aerodynamic efficiency.

And maybe even a massive rear spoiler.

Clear tails are already installed. But haven't been tuned yet. Were putting it on the dyno next week.

  6. 320i version though.

There seems to be alot of positive feedback from others with 325i.

If you're so interested in it why don't you just buy one and try it instead of being a pussy and waiting for someone else to do it? It's so f**king cheap it's worth a shot.
    Thanks for your help. :thumb:
I wouldn't bother to be honest.
    this convo was awesome.
Haha, yeah, it's like looking into a mirror back into a mirror back into a mirror...
    seriously don't get the chip

    :D

I say go for it. If it sux balls you'll get over it. There's always someone that'll buy it :thumb:

  7. The chips i really don't trust are the ones for an e36 that simply add a resistor into the AFM signal wire and still claim to be a chip.

Are they really as much of a scam as i think they are or do they actually work?

If you haven't seen it he claims they make the engine think it's getting more air than it is. Which i don't see working unless you improved flow after the AFM via cams or porting etc.

He also claims that his "chip" causes the engine to advance timing I just can't see it doing anything good except feeding an over-rich mix into my engine and degrading performance.

    Has anyone tried these?

    :D

    hah lets work this out.

From what you said yes there is the additional 0.15 hp. PLUS

    - 0.53hp (calculated on the dyno of course) from the extra air flowing up through custom cardboard intakes in the fog light holes that go straight into the intake manifold (for massive torque).

The dizzy is slightly cooler and transfers a slightly better spark to the plugs (0.78 hp).

1 kg off a 1000 kg car that has 170 hp at the wheels would mean the power/weight ratio is now increased - effectively adding more hp.

Then i got extra vtech from the removal.

You only got an extra 3hp? I managed to squeeze 7hp out of the 318.

But i used the left fog light hole to mount an aftermarket remote oil cooler. Made from coke bottles.

Sadly i'm suffering from lowered v-tec but i have noticed less turbo lag
