  1. Yeah anyways ... tirerack.com still have PSS super sports for $347 USD + tax + shipping each so looking just over 1k landed... not too bad for 20s. Will be here in 3-4 days. Then around 20 per wheel to fit.

Will be new rubber, not new old stock.

actually just banged in the full set.. $2400 NZD inc shipping and tax by the last lot of tires I got off them. Still cheaper than 4k which is what tire shops hear will want for them.

What would the duty be? Also, the shipping must be MASSIVE considering the weight or is it not?

  2. Those presenters in 'Top Gear' USA, are so cringe worthy.... they're just impossible to watch.
It's just even worse that they run a show called Top Gear. Really shows where the BBC executives heads are.
America has a lot of good presenters, but it seems certain they didn't go above and beyond to find them for that show.

    Agree.

  3. I was incredibly nervous before the semi against SA, but basically had no feeling yesterday before the game. I guess some part of me knew it was a pretty tall order and I'd had enough of the tournament!

  4. People need to stop using such an elitist bigot as a role-model for the anti-PC brigade who apparently believe he says "what we all think." He's fallen on his own sword and it has been coming for a long time. He needed to go and nobody is surprised.

Just like Paul Henry who in the coming months will crash and burn for the 3rd time because generally the public don't like the out-of-touch.

  5. Thats so true, however I presume if TopGear was kept factual and had little/no entertainment in it i.e explosions, crashes ect, it would not have near as many viewers? but then again what would I know!?

That's why it became so popular internationally because you didn't actually have to listen to anything...

  6. The show won't survive without those hosts. Top Gear Australia bombed because it didn't need replication in Australia, USA yes, because it was harder for them to relate to the original.

Top Gear will always be one of my favourite shows, but I stopped watching it about 3 years ago when it became clearly scripted, less about actual car-reviews and the outside controversy which always seemed to involve Clarkson. It seemed as the show went down in content value (for me) it went up in popularity internationally.

It was a great format, but ultimately the person who brought it to the BBC in the first place ruined it enough for everyone else.

New format with the same hosts on a different network would probably work. New hosts / same format is doomed.

  7. Let's battle out what your favourite 3 series is, mechanical, modification friendly, looks, nostalgia etc.

I'll kick it off with mine in order, leaving the e21 out as I don't know enough about it:

    5. E90 - despite how many angles are in the design I find it too conservative. A good looking car but there's something I find a bit dull about them. The saving grace for me would be 335i and the coupes, the coupes are especially good-looking, varied and far smoother to look at.

    3. E36 - I remember in the mid-90s when I was only a kid and seeing bright red e36's and thinking that they were an awesome looking machine. Have had a bit of love-hate with them because so many haven't been looked after. Also, when I worked at the traffic control centre we saw so many of them break down!!

    4. F30 - love the wagons, didn't like them when they first came out but have really warmed to how aggressive the front end is. The bi-turbo I4s is a great roll of the dice on dropping the I6s. The 4 series (which is just a coupe 3 series) is out of this world.

    2. E30 - a classic that still looks amazing. Great to drive, beautiful to look at. Timeless.

    1. E46 - I've owned two of them and still believe that they are a beautiful looking car, inside and out. The I6s are awesome, the M-spec versions handle incredibly well and they're lighter than the new offerings. The 330ci coupes and convertibles around still look like an expensive, premium vehicle and have held their value. I believe that the e46 M3 is the best M3.
