  3. Hey guys im after a lot of parts to make this m52 conversion happen. If you have nay of these parts for sale please let me know!

    1. E28 533i motor mounts w/ 5mm spacers or e28 m5 mounts with out spacers

    2. E34 throttle cable

    3. E21 brake booster w/ modified shaft, to 15mm or 325IX/e32 735 without mod to the shaft

    4. E34 M5 or 25mm brake master cylinder w/ additional brake line used for the 325ix booster

    or a e32 735i with the modified 320i booster

    5. E30 325 transmission crossmember

    6. E28 m5 or two 320i trans mounts, whichever are cheaper

    7. E36 driveshaft

    8. E34 oil pan

    9. E34 oil pickup

    10. E36 m3 exhast manifold

    11. M50 radiator hoses

    12. E36 M3 Motronic

    13. OBDI intake manifold

    14. OBDI throttle body boot

    15. E36 alloy mounting arms

    16. OBDI wiring harness NOT silver label “413†motronic, it has EWS (security)

    17. The engine harness and the ECU are all E36 M3 vanos.


  4. gearbox choice is pretty marginal really. if you are going to boost the engine then go for something stronger. but BMW didnt cut it that fine with thier gearboxes. Youll be fine with a 220. John aka E30ftw had this gearbox iirc and had no issues, and i ran a 240 found on the back of an M40....

    ok thats cool. i had ideas for putting a turbo on next year so ill keep that in mind then whether it happens or not. Oh ok thats sweet then i dont think ill be thrashing it that much either (i guess thats what everyone says :P ) Thanks for the info.

    Getrag 220 gearbox is usually matched to smaller cpacity engines or lower torque engines like the M50.

    The M52 produces more torque than am M50 and the M52B28 is top dog short of an M3 for Torque.

    I would not be hooking one of these up to a M52B28 if you are looking for long term reliability and I wouldn'y buy a converted car with one in.

    Oh really? From what I have looked at and heard from other people is that the getrag 220 is a lot stronger then most others and even a little more then a zf gearbox. What kind of box would u recommend? Cheers :)

  6. Hey just after some more info on all the parts needed for completing this conversion into my e30. So far i have the Engine (vanos) and a getrag 220 gearbox. Next on my shopping list is the OBD1 conversion kit. Is this really needed for this conversion? and what are all the parts that this consists of? Thanks heaps!

  7. If you do decide to get a new paint job, do it before you put new motor in mate. That way you can do the engine bay at the same time.

    Yea very true get it all done while its out. really need a cheap run around

    Just dont f**k up the paint job putting the engine in. heh.

    That would go well with the 2.8

    Although I cant fathom why you let a person stand on your car...

    oh yea the pointe shoes have a special padding underneath them so no dents or marks. On the strongest part of the bonnet :)

    It's no biggie, it's only a bonnet and he knows someone who can panel & paint it very very cheaply hehe.

    haha yea ! im actually looking at getting a new paint job after the conversion. Might get in contact again :) still no central locking or alarm, probably gonna keep it that way from last time :P

  9. Err, dosent the E36 one fit better?

    You need to cut the plastic off it etc, but the wires to the ecu are longer and allow you to run the ecu in the cabin.

    Can do loom and ECU

    The e34 ECU sits better and on the right hand side than to the left like with the e36. Also means i wont have to worry about the EWS and all that blah :)

    HELLBM how much would you be after for the ecu and loom?

  10. Hey guys i'm out for a tidy 325i E30 manual just stock and facelift. Not too sure whats out there with a budget of around $2000-$3000. If anyone has one for sale or knows anyone with one could you please let me know. I have a 318i auto atm and was wanting drop in a bigger motor in but costs ended up being too much so just going to buy a 2.5l manual and be happy with. I have a complete tech2 kit and rims ready for it so not too worried about that. Maybe turbo it somehwere down the line. I just love the shape and cant think of anything better.
