Thanks - good tip. I thought the valvetronic motor gasket came with the rocker cover so will make sure to get one bit of googling also suggets the eccentric shaft sensor seal/gasket too. Cheers

So my car has developed the inevitable Valve cover gasket leak on my '09 130i (plastic cover). I am about to embark on repairing. A lot of info out there suggests anything but OEM is a waste of time and secondly that at 175k km's I should be replacing the whole cover. Whilst that makes sense to me before I go and blow $1k on a gasket repair (new cover) I am keen to hear of first hand experience with this. Also any advice on jobs while I'm in there... Looks like the PCV hose at the back of the block is an obvious one. Cheers

Anyone know anything about these guys - supposedly in Sydney Aus. Fairly cheap pricing (comparatively) on a Gruppe M intake… https://www.xposed.com.au/bmw-1-series-e82-e87-e88-130i-3-0.html

I tried to find this on FB but no luck - looks like its gone already.

I rate these too but those are 3 series offset - would struggle to fit those under the front.

Legend - thanks for the offer Jacko. I have found a shop who can get me one in by Thursday at latest. Interestingly fcp euro were 8 days - can’t complain with that! cheers

Who does everyone use for parts supply? My Mickey Mouse hose has split and I am need of a quick replacement to get me out on the track this weekend. Been quoted $200inc gst for a genuine replacement but looking at other options including the billet flanges but need one asap. cheers Dave

How’s the price of fuel. Your fuel bill has basically doubled 2022-23!
-
Mines sitting on 9.2 L/100kms for combined but I rarely do more than 60km/h when commuting and very few highway km’s. I didn’t expect it to be this low and have been thinking about monitoring the fuel physically to confirm. When I bought it a few months back it was around 10.4 L/100kms from memory.

I agree with @M3AN NZ new also meaning generally lower spec. I saw this was up for sale about 12 months ago and never sold that time round either. Great base for a club/track car!

Ultimately it will depend what else is available at the time. There are a few on the market now around that $8k mark. Yours looks pretty neat and ticks a lot of the preventative maintenance boxes. I just paid $12k for mine - was more than I wanted to pay and probably top dollar - but it was the only manual for sale at that time and I had a small window of opportunity to buy one - so I had no option.

Oh man - ages watching these - finally bought one from the North Island and an NZ new one pops up down the road!

Here she is. Going to drive it a while as is but will be ultimately be looking to use it for some track day fun so will go down that route eventually. Had a good read of your thread @Jacko. Some great info in there!

Gday all. I am looking to get back into a BMW and am interested on one For Sale in Auckland. Problem is I am based in the South Island. Are there any knowledgeable forum members who would take a look for me - for a fee of course! Keen to get an unbiased look over it. It’s an e87 130i. Cheers Dave
