  1. Lol thank you. Literally just got the car back from the auto electrician, and yes that was the problem. Bummer I didn't bother to scratch the paint off the ground contact.
  2. Curious as to how it went with it - all fixed and paid out? I've worked in Parnell for many years and I think I saw your car many times.
  3. My E46 M3 was retrofitted with genuine LED tail lights 5 years ago and it's been working fine. Just failed WOF because the tail lights won't go brighter when brake is on IF headlight is on. When the headlight is off, the tail lights would grow brighter when the brake pedal is depressed. Anybody has any clue where I could start looking from? Would you have any reliable auto electrician, preferably in the North Shore, Auckland area? Thanks!
  4. The plastic hinge in mine is broken so looking around for a replacement before I order something new (from somewhere). Regular "black" (schwarz) interior. This is nappa leather, so it looks like most (all?) non-M 3 series won't work. Please DM me if you have one or know where I can find one! https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-25308-black-leather-armrest-with-mounting-bracket-e46e46-m3/ but just need the top part. Note the crazy price so I won't be getting it there.

  7. Rare exhaust, hand crafted in Germany 83mm quad tail pipe, over $2000 USD new. https://www.bimmerworld.com/Exhaust/BMW-Eisenmann-Exhaust/Eisenmann-Sport-Exhaust-83mm-Tips-E46-M3.html Not too loud but gives it nice tone. Note: bought it 2nd hand and the previous owner had cut off one of the inlet tubes. Probably best to weld on. I'll try to find better photos. PRICE DROPPED $1300 Pick up in North Shore, Auckland.
  8. Looked a long time before settling with these wheels, close second choice being APEX wheels. These should be quite similar in terms of strength and weight. Super light. Model - Sportline CS.16 18x9.5 ET22 5x120 Comes with Hankook RS3 265/35/18 - probably around 2-3mm tread Photo below on my car when I first got them. Some curb marks but otherwise straight. Aggressive fit on E46 M3s and will need front camber plates, and I was running 12mm spacers at the rear if I remember right. These are low offset ones and have lots of concave. Some reviews/info https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=902502 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=721934 http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=381628 PRICE DROP $1300 Pick up from North Shore, Auckland. Will try to find or take more photos
  9. It was something like $560 or 570 incl GST, which is pretty much what it'd have costed me to get it shipped from US. A&H guys got it from a local wholesaler - probably best for you to call them tomorrow
  10. To have some closure, ended up taking it to A&H electrical and they were able to find me a Valeo unit for roughly the best price I could find from US. In hindsight I could've gambled for a much cheaper fix by taking the alternator off myself and just replacing the voltage regulator. But not this time because the alternator came off at the shop and made sense to replace the whole thing. At least I have a peace of mind with a brand new unit. Thanks guys.
  11. Thanks heaps. Sounds like I should ring around some auto sparkies tomorrow.. Hopefully somebody would be able to test it and tell me what's wrong with it and fingers crossed it's something simple like the voltage regulator. Rebuilding..might be fun but yeah dont want to take the car off road more than absolutely necessary
  12. The car started showing the solid red battery light and after a little while random warning lights started coming on (ABS, airbag etc) and the audio cut out within minutes. So I decided to cruise into a petrol station and surely enough it wouldn't start again - dead battery. Jump started it and it ran for a few minutes before sputtering to death. So it's quite likely that the alternator is dead (the battery is quite new). Any recommendations on how to go about fixing this? The local workshop seems to be having trouble finding the part. I did a quick google and it looks like the prices are all over the places too. Can this be reconditioned? Brand new from states? What's the go? Cheers!
  13. Just converted to 18 oem square setup and found that the standard lugs don't quite make 6.5 rotations at the front and I will need slightly longer bolts. Any idea where I could get some quality ones fast? Too long and they'd scrape so it'd have to be quite close to factory ones.
