  1. Hi all I'm by no means technically incline on these things but a mate of mine suggested having ecu remap/tune for better performance. Is it worth doing the tuning or re-mapping and what sort of gains in terms of performance can I expect ? bhp.. n..kw... etc..etc. Any suggestions or recommendations to who can do the tuning will be appreciated. Am happy with the current "414 hp at 8,300 rpm and 295 pound-feet of torque at 3,900 rpm with 85 percent of the maximum torque available consistently through 6,500 rpm" as reading on the specs and really curious to see how much different a re-map or tuning will do ! Cheers
  2. Whatever you do don't take it to European Car Specialist in Puke ! Went once with a blown brake light bulb and owner was very quick to say the whole unit itself is faulty and needs total replacing. First question is do you have insurance to clam against.... never again ! Do some reviews on them before jumping in I suggest. Unfortunately can't think of any in Puke but I have mine service at Coobes Johnson in Hamilton. Been with them for over 6 years now .. best service ever in my opinion. ... and definitely MTA approved. See below https://www.nocowboys.co.nz/businesses/European-Car-Specialist
  3. Sorry all - my bad looking totally at the wrong thing .. obviously not paying attention. Please ignore my post for now
  4. I bought a Lenovo car dvr HR06a cam and manage to install the front cam tapping the cigarette lighter fuse but am kinda stuck on how to wire the rear cam. Not very helpful instructions on the manual provided and watching various internet videos on how to - I gather I would need to tap the power wire of the rear cam to the Reversing light of the car. I hope I'm reading it right .. attach some pics on what I'm trying to do and any suggestions or help will be very appreciated. I am a handy DIY person but not electrical minded so not sure which is the correct wire to tap onto. Picture explains better... thanking all in advance ... Have an awesome day !!! EDIT - sorry looking at the wrong area.. the photo shown is not where the reverse lamp is.. found it now and trying to figure oout... thanks

  8. I've painted my calipers blue with high heat paint and they turned out pretty cool. Thing is I had the impression that the calipers get extremely hot and I wanted to add the M logo onto the calipers. Took the car for a rather hard long drive with plenty of stops/start as well and when I stop the car after the drive, I touched the calipers and they were not HOT at all but rather luke warm. Is this normal ? So I cut the logo out of vinyl ( see photo attached ) and stuck them on and tested with driving the following day and they still good as new. So pretty happy with outcome so far. On for 4th day now and no sign of them disintegrating. I've read calipers can get up to 250 degrees in temp but certainly not hot to touch.. in my case anyway.

  13. Hi all - got a dead CIC unit on my 2004 545i E60. Had low tyre pressure red symbol on dash, was only a flat tyre and had it fixed but now stuck with the annoying symbol which I can't reset unless I take it to workshop without the CIC display Saw this BAT TECH XTUNER E3 [Vpecker] WIFI OBD OBD2 Automotive Diagnostic Scan Tool on Tradme for $295 and claim it will apart from other things, be able to reset TPMS . Does anyone have one of this unit and confirm it can do the reset ? Or any 'tricks' to get rid of the low tyre pressure warning ? Any help or suggestions appreciated Thanking all in advance .... Cheers
  14. Thanks ! Learn something new every day !

  16. That's the one I preferred the E90 instead of the coupe E92. Like 4 doors instead of 2... value for money LOL... kidding.. Only about 9400 units produced between 2008 - 2011 I think.

  21. Hi all - got my Nav systems converted from Jap to NZ on my 2004 E60 545i recently. The problem i am having is my current location is always fix at 'la la land' in the middle of no where in Tauranga and no matter what settings I tried, can't seem to get the navigation systems to work Disc given to me is a copied CD and label CD 6505 if that means anything? Do I need a map upgrade or similar ? Anyone got a latest nav dvd to share perhaps ? Sorry for noob question - I am not familiar with using the Navigation systems and still learning. Thanks all.
  22. Hi everyone ! Thanks so much for making me feel so welcome. Hey , I don't get offended easily and honestly I am here to learn.. Bottom line is , I TRULY enjoy driving in my new ride and that's all that matters I know it's not the flashiest of the M range, but I'm happy ! Give me a good reason to go to work !
  23. Hi Mike- E36 and AJ_D and BBS: Ha ha ha, yes I shall wait for the next 10,20,30 payday ?? and drop the engine into the sea AJ D - Actually that's a good question. I must admit I am by no means up to date with cars except I know it drives extremely well and I love it to bits. Apart from the title, reading the internet and learning that way, and through the previous owenrship papers, yes, how can one tell if it is M44 indeed. I am kinda curious now.Would there be anywhere physical on the engine that I may identify and confirm it's an M44? Cheers
  24. Cheers matey and thanks for welcoming me to the club!
  25. Hiya ! Fell in love with this beauty and surrendered my 323i almost immediately. . It's manual 5 speed sedan and I was told it's one of those limited edition produced in South Africa between 1996-1998 but I cannot find precise information as I read somewhere the sedan production ended in Dec 1997. I was hoping to find some brochures for this particular model but one I saw on Trade me was sold. Anyway, attached some pics and great to join the club !
