  1. You are so right, My car is far from perfect, but I cant imagine parting with it and I wouldn't be buying another car if we didn't need 2 cars now.....
  2. Do you sell BMW's?......if not maybe you should think about it =P Its so tempting I love E34's......will have to have a look around =)
  3. Its so hard...I live in a Holden family and was brought up with them, I grew up always wanting a Holden, but after owning a BMW Its hard to imagine owning anything else lol
  4. To be fair she quite likes the E30's, just not that one lol, Not sure what to buy next though, I want something bigger, So I'm leaning towards an HSV/Holden V8 or 540I She wants an American SUV
  5. Thanks for the opinions, the Wife didn't like it, so we left it She would rather we buy a newer one and use our E36 as a runabout, which I wont argue with lol
  6. Cool thanks, I might go have a look =-) Just have no idea about anything other than E36's at the moment...
  7. Want a good cheap run around http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-332578257.htm
  8. Thanks for that guys, cause I wasn't sure if I got it horribly wrong, but want to start doing stuff myself....

    Rust...

Thanks for the help guys That's perfect Matt cause I had no clue (Noob)

    Rust...

I did something stupid, the side skirt on the car has a broken clip where it was slightly damaged on its way to NZ, anyway I used a bit of duct tape to secure it to the car, I forgot about it and today I was cleaning inside the doors and realized water had got under the tape, now I have rust! Its just inside the passenger door and it seems to be surface rust, I hope it isn't really bad, but I have never had rust on my car before so I'm unsure, is there something I can do now to prevent it getting worse? or is it too far gone?

I am very tempted to find out about getting a manual conversion instead, but my Wife wont drive a bloody Manual! If anyone can give me a rough figure of the cost involved, that would be awesome and il buy her a Toyota Starlet or something

I have very similar problems with mine, what did it cost you for the replacement?.....Just looking to sort that out now...
  14. Just on the topic of the actual type of oil.....I put in 15w-40 Valvoline Engine Armour....reason being it had ACEA A3 & B3 spec on the back which I read is approved for BMW and it was on sale for $29 for a 6L bottle..... Anyway I just wanna know what you guys think I should put in at my next oil change and what grade? Car is just approaching 200K now...
  15. I was just tinkering and thought Id measure how much its over and its about a 1/2cm when cold, but when hot its perfectly at the #1 level.... I hate when people think they know your car better than you do, according to the guy at Repco when I bought the oil it should be near the very top of my dipstick on a BMW and that everyone with a BMW who dosn't is running them dry and that 6l of oil was gonna be way too much and to buy a 4l pack, because he has owned everything European and he should know!....what bullshit! (I feel sorry for the person who listens to his advice) Thanks again for your help Glenn, put my mind to rest =)
