At that low kms its very unlikely (but not impossible) that its the HG. Waterpumps on those engines are a joke - basically a service item. Drain the cooling system and take a look if your brave, flushing the coolant could also help diagnose this issue. If your coolant was just low causing you to overheat you may just need a new thermostat.

Morning all, I have just bought a 328ci e46 pre facelift. Its a genuine schnitzer and I am very pleased with its aesthetics and handling however while it cruises very well and is fine on the motorway. I can't help but feel a 328 should be more (or at least equal) to my 325i manual e36. But It feels very tame to drive - like I'm in a loud 318. Any idea of things I could check? I've noticed that the outdoor temp sensor is faulty displaying -40 deg this is a simple fix but could the ecu be limiting power for ice? I don't think it's the vanos.. Drives very smoothly. ThAnks in advanced for your suggestions

Unfortunately due to my financial circumstances i will be selling my e36. 180000kms 2500cc New Zealand New, SE spec (Full Leather, Body kit, Spoiler) in Hellrot Red. Mechanically very good, has a few cosmetic issues, small area of paint fade on the bonnet and a wee bit on the boot(common for red paint). Dent in the bottom of the drivers door and a couple of small car park scratches else the red paint looks amazing. Comes on original SE Alloys bought some M5 wheels to put on it but took them off as ride was to rough for post-earthquake Christchurch (negotiable if you want these too). Original kidney grilles were stolen from my work carpark so have replaced with black ones (suit the red better) Has been very well looked after and interior is in very good shape - Full black leather with electric seats. Has pioneer Head unit with ipod connectivity, 2 Sony 5" speakers in the rear 4" fusions in the door and factory tweeters and front 5" A real pleasure to drive and i am going to be truly sad to see it go. KMs will go up as its still my daily. Thought i would offer it up here before i stick it on trademe, Would rather see it go to somebody who will look after it. Sorry for the poor photography does not do the car justice. $6k ONO Pm me or contact me on x if interested. Thanks http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=td6382

Hey guys, Last night i did an oil and filter chnage on my e36 325i. was running really well and there were no leaks or whatever. this morning i was about to parrell park and was waiting for a gap to parrel park, i started creaping on the clutch when the car stalls, i restart the car. it stalls again. now i have a very rough idle, no power breaks (had to rip the handbrake) no power steering. The car is outside and i am hoping that it is somthing simple so i dont have to take the tow truck home AGAIN. Also, last week i cleaned out the icv valve, car is running like no valve is connected. Thanks for your help.

Hey guys Wondering if anybody knows anything about this... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=350625758 Quite interested but i am in Christchurch wondering if anybody knows anything about it, talked to the salesman today told me it was a trade in on newer 3 series at a Wellington bmw dealership. Was looking at getting a pre purchase inspection done but if anyone from the Wellington region wants to drop in and have a decent look, there might be a cash reward ($50?). pm me if interested. Cheers, Rowan
