That pricing is insane in this day and age though, buying power that good or tyre shops got big markup, maybe both. Would have been interesting to see what the PS5 cost in the same sizing. May have to drive to Auckland for future tires.
Friends got tyres direct from importer last year. A set of 4 was about 20% more than 1 from a (cheap) retailer.
So somewhere between the importers margin and the retailers margin is a healthy number.

Avoid like the plague.
In Auckland, weaving through traffic, speeding, up someone’s arse, generally driving like a c@&t, “Oh, that’ll be a 320i then.”
I always presume they’re rushing to the mechanic.

Sure is. I went to the Wellington launch of these. I remember the presenter saying “and representing outstanding value, the 740il at $214,000.”
or $224k.
Had just paid $131k for a 3 bed, 2 bath townhouse in Hataitai.
That car looks lovely.

I was hoping to get another 6-12 months out of them, but that's not going to happen and I need to get this sorted.
My plan was (and probably still is) to shelve the 19in Style 67's and get some 18in ARC-8's (original I know, but quite simply can't come up with a better weight/quality/value/looks combination) and buy the new rubber for those rather than the 19s. I'm focused on driving experience and the 18s will be much better suited to Auckland roads than the 19s plus the weight savings will be very welcome.
I'm thinking to go with 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears with ETs to match to keep close to CSL spec. Apex suggest 235/40 for the fronts and 265/35 for the rears, but Michelin PS4S's don't come in a 235/40R18, so I'm wondering whether 225/45 and 255/40 would be a suitable option as that's very close to OE specs as it pertains to circumference.
Have you checked Costco? They can order in all sorts.

Gazely couldnt find someone to come to the service desk so after 3 times ringing the bell i walked out, Repco came in at $500 and FCP was $250 incl shipping for the same if not better branded parts. Another time i priced up PCV for the M62 from BMW and Landrover and the landrover one for the exact same part was something like $100 more. Crazy.
Gazelys. Charge $92 for a Fiat oil filter (only supplier in the country for this particular one). Spareto, $30 for 3 plus shipping.
Do Meyle, Mann, Filtron and ATE fall into the “cheap parts” basket?-

This car in good nick goes uncompiled goes for 8k. A stock nice one goes for 13-16k
This one has a wof but it needs paint (redone and peeling) and the interior was dyed poorly. Its got terrible wheels and the top isnt closing properly.

Its worth 4-5k. I need it for some parts, its too far gone to restore. Old fella, absolutely dreaming.
He's also got 2 Audi's my mate is looking at scooping as well for parts.

I’ve done that. Got the wrong brake pads for the wife’s Mazda, got the mechanic to source some locally on same day courier.
it was still cheaper overall as I’d bought suspension arms and filters from Spareto. -
When I showed the mechanic I use the price difference for a diff bush from Stocks at $760 versus online at $255 delivered, he said “go for it”. Same with brake sensors, $92 + GST at ACBMW for one or $77 delivered for both. There are times local parts are competitive though and we do it case by case.

Memories indeed. In the late ‘80s I bought a pair of Alpine 6385 (maybe at Paul Money, maybe some place in Newmarket) speakers and paired them with an Alpine 3525 amp in my mighty Laser Ghia. With a Phillips head unit and Sony 10 disc in the boot.
At 120km/h, a bass note would make the rear vision mirror vibrate so I couldn’t see.-

Never mind. $32,390 including buyers premium, with mismatched upholstery and what looks like the wrong gear stick.

But it made me want to narrow my search to a Tech II now if there's anybody here willing to let go of theirs
What did that go for? Thought it didn’t sell?

I like the “box guards”.
They look like I made them out of some old Marley guttering.

i got a 2012 X5 35D e70 with 119000kms on the clock and wanting to know what can be done to get better mileage. Mileage is averaging at 9.9Km/L
Would a DPF clean or walnut carbon clean be beneficial or should i be looking at other things to replace, upgrade due to age etc?
I'm based in Auckland
What’s your average overall speed in the trip computer?

F15? Think there was one on TM.

Wasn’t someone looking for one of these?
Obviously hard to get as it says it’s a “very rear vehicle.”

Ditto. f**king awful things.
Get well. -
That’s a great effort. Great that you got all the right care too. Hope you recover well.
I’ll just add this, imagine having the catheter in for 14 days.-
