  1. Hi, Looking for a set of triple webers (45s) and manifolds for my M30 engine project. I know there are one or two sets floating around New Zealand, hoping to pick up on where a set might be. All help appreciated. Cheers.
  2. HI, Have you still got the contact details of the person you sold these to ? I am looking for a set of these exact carbs and manifolds, they possibly might be willing to sell them on. Cheers.
  3. The M5 e28 car is simply an unknown in NZ, I agree with that notion. Not all M5 e28 cars are the same or equal. They have 2 different engines in them for a start, the M88 and S38 options. They were hand built to special order and so the list goes on. Depending on the spec, the valuations vary. When unsolicited valuations are being pronounced upon this M5 that is being referenced, it is a bit like saying a 3.0csl is worth X dollars, a Batmobile is a csl, therefore they are worth the same. I reckon the M5 e28 being advertised is an absolute steal! As to it's true worth, use the Jeremy Clarkson test. "Which car would Kristan Scott-Thomas prefer to climb into for a night out at the Royal Albert, the HSV or the M5"?
  4. Photo's as requested Edit: Can you resize your pictures and repost them please.
  5. Hi Charles I'm the owner of the Red Alpina & Part owner of the Yellow E21 Schnitzer Turbo. I saw your car at the track yesterday. A very nice car you have there. Sounded good on the track also. I'll say Hello next time as I was busy driving out "Custard Tart" Race Car Cheers Kent
  6. I too have one of these beast's. I call mine "The Bismark cos it's "Big,German & Battleship Grey" They are a hoot to drive. Oodles of smoothly delivered power & torque. Mine is a 1993 model done 194,000 km's. Blows no blue smoke & have had no issues in my 18 months of ownership. Cheers
  7. I understood the colours came from Martini as they were major sponsors of German motorsport during the early 70's period. Porsche, Lancia, etc fly these colours, and the early CSl Batmobiles are decribed as having "Martini Motorsport " stripes on them, and indeed were at some early stage sponsored by Martini. The Motorsport stripes as we see them today are a development from that period with a slight colour alteration, if I am to believe this story. The Castrol/Texaco story might be plausible, but I somehow think this is a myth. Would love to hear what others may have heard. - PP. Jono
  8. Correct. A "Graham Clyde Special" Stroked engine
  9. Thanks for the nice comments about my car. I had a great run to Dunedin & back. Cheers Kento
  10. The car you are looking for is my old car. Call me for more info : zero two 0ne 4 4 two three 9 3
  11. That car is the real deal, totally correct as presented, and there is a photo of it in "unbeatable BMW" by Jeremy Walton. This car was also raced by Sugden in the same season that Soper raced it, 1991. It has gone to the USA to live.
  12. Thanks guys for the nice comments, they are most appreciated. The 202 car was mine, but I had to sell it due to business commitments. She ran a turbo 3.5ltr engine with 460hp plus and 750 ish Nm of torque. I only ever completed one race with it running properly before the sale was forced upon me three days later. "Sabine" as she was known now lives in Florida where she has won her new owner podium finishes, and managed a 1st place in the concourse at "Road America". Sebring is her home track, and from here she tours the East Coast Historic race series, including venues such as Watkins Glen. Driving the CSl was an interesting experience with the turbo lag being considerable. The acceleration was neck snapping, cornering a little bit toward under-steer, then she would bite and flick to over-steer making for a challenging ride. A damp track was unspeakably hard to master. I don't think I have ever been so smitten and terrified of a car before or since leaving me with an understanding how masochists get their kicks. Too say farewell was difficult to say the least, however another CSL Batmobile race car is in gestation in our workshop, and I look forward to her arrival in the future......this one won't be for sale, but I may consider building a sister for someone else. M20 Arp Headstuds

Bought ARP head studs recently from Top End performance in the USA. No problem to deal with, goods arrived 5 days later, would recommend them, also a good source for MLS head gaskets. These guys are v.good on BMW stuff.
