  2. Haven't done it myself actually :) But my friend has and there are lots of resources on it... basically you tap into the wires for your city lights, so they come on on the first turn of the lighting switch. The $150 ones seems to be the taiwanese one, the $350 seems to be from Umnitza. $350 one should be better quality, but you pay to play. Apparently the taiwanese ones are great for the money but the ballasts/inverters burn out after a while, while the $350 ones are more durable.

  3. Clear lights for my e36: $1,189.80 inc. GST... Although they said they could do a 25% discount at trade price for $892.35... seems a little silly for lights..

Alex, was that for a full set of clears for your E36? I thought it was only $600+ (but I was quoted that price a few years back).

  4. yeah its got blanking tabs on the drivers side but they are grey not black my car has grey hood lining and grey leather.

Pretty random question man why do you ask? are the two doors clean or somthin.

Cheers, it's just that I've changed my headliner to black, and I managed to get 3 black M3 handles from a US M3, but they don't have the blanking tabs at all. So now it's confirmed that the RHD models use a LHD body and drill extra holes on our passenger side for the different handle position then cover the driver's side holes with blanking tabs.

  5. here is a pic of it - looks the biz.

    some questions for a noobie:

I have looked at the existing airbox and have a couple of questions (pics attached) so you can see what mine looks like.

    1. There appears to be a small hose (bout 2inches wide) exiting the airbox and going down under the engine - seems like a cold air feed for something. What does this do, should I remove it completely or just unclip it from the existing box and leave it there?

    2. The existing AFM unit appears to be molded (fittings etc) specifically for the OEM airbox. do i need to try and modify it or do I need another part? Also it seems further back in the engine bay - so I might need an extension pipe too?

    Cheers

The hose you're talking about... guessing it's the airbox thermostat that has 2 coolant lines running to/from it to the throttle body? Couldn't see it in the pictures though.

How did you go about the install in the end? Did you manage to bolt the MAF up to the Simota intake?

And yes we need a sound clip. :D

  6. Lots of violet M3s on the forum it seems!

Alex: Nice plate, is that a decoration plate (looks like a Germanplates one) or is it actually used on the road?

btccm3: Keep us updated on the mods! Your car is the first modded M3 I've seen in NZ. Bit of a random but can I ask if you have two black blanking tabs for the 'oh sh*t' handle on the driver's side? Or is it totally clean, no tabs and no handle?
