  1. HAHA yeah man it skips and jums and shuders everytime it akes a huge bang and clunk. Its definetly the diff thats analed. It does it mostly when its diferentiating when im turning. and I lifted it up and there is no drive to the rear left wheel ae. Ill post some pics as soon as I get my 3.73 diff in there and pop this one open. If you want a cheap diff btw ring 07 578 2400 I got a mean as price on that 3.73


  2. Fined for fogs? I cruzed right through the checkpoint about 8 times that night with fogs nice and bright and sub pumpin heavy in the back haha.

    My mate was not so lucky in his sacked Honda. fined $1600 for having uncerted adjusties and some other bull sh*t. pink sticker the usual.

    That was the bigest crack down Ive ever seen. looked like frozen spew.. i mean chosen few spent quite a few hours next to the docks in plumer st i think it is.

    Mesage to all KEEP YOUR CAR LEGAL!! its so satisfying wen they cant find anything to do you on. If youre not doing anything wrong you can get cheeky with the cops haha. told him not to tuch the paint job because i just polished it. hehe should have seen the look on his face


  3. Thanks guys. Well I found out that the M44 manual originaly has a 3.3- 3.4 diff.

    I just drove down to waitomo with the 4.44 diff and Its like Im missing 5th. Like it revs really high.

    Im not so sure about the 4.1 diff. I dont think It will be enough. Its a 1.9L motor by the way.

    but I think the 3.6 sounds good??

    Driving down I cained the sh*t out of subaru legacys off the line. quite fun hehe

  4. Hi, I am doing a manual conversion in my 318IS which has and m44 motor and Im using the gear box and stuff out of an m43. I have just goten to the stage in the conversion where I need a lower ratio diff. The diff I have in it at the moment is a 4.44 ?? well the tag says 444 so thats my guess. And I drove the car yesterday and the gears are very close together and at 100Kmh the engine revs out to 3600-3700 rpm. so I definetly need a lower ratio diff.

    What ratio diff do I need for this m44 motor? will a 3.65 do it? what comes standard on a manual m44?

    looking for quick replys as it is quite urgent. sory

    well the wheels I have in mind are staggered. 19 X 8.5" front & 19 X 9.5" rear

    In my judgement the car will still roll around on all 4's so that means it should function as a normal car. The handling should be sweet because I dont ever make use of the limits of the handling on my lil 318IS.

  6. ah oops I meant 235x40x17 in the back... I have 215x45 on the front so I got confused.

    I want to go with a skinny tyre because I quite like that drifter look where they strech the tyres out to pop onto the beads. quite a lot of my mates have this on their japanese rice boxes. looks quite good as it brings the profile of the tyre down and it looks like there are no tyres on the car.

    If I go with a 225 I wont be decreasing the amount of tyre in contact with the road because the car originaly had 205 tyres. but you do have a point.

    Just wondering how much I will gain by rolling the guards?

    Im not woried about going fast as I dont hav the need for speed.. I like to go slow (but not too slow) hehehe

    But so you reckon just go for a 19x8.5 rim??

    Who has put really big wheels on their car before? how big and how was it done?


  7. Im looking for new rims at the moment and I was just wondering how wide I can go with the rims.

    Im looking at 19s at the moment and im not sure if 19x9.5 will fit on the back. I have 17x8.5s on at the moment and there is only about 5mm gap between the tyre and the guard (the tyres 235x45x17)

    Would it be possible to fit the 19x9.5 with 225x35x19 tyres, and rolling the guards? (doesnt look like guard rolling will do much)

    or even with a 215 tyre or a 30 profile tyre??

    Also my car is lowered.

    How on earth did you get the rocker cover so clean???

    was it a big pain geting the tuning right?

    Im seriously planing a turbo on my m44 motor. any word of advice? tips?


  9. i cant even be botherd reading this all... but go the JAMEX progressives. goes really low and handles like a dream.

    u cant tuck the wheel in the front on any e36 because the front chasy rails will be way to low to the ground. mine sits at 80mm as is.

    ALWAYS BE AWARE OF THE LOWEST POINT OF THE CAR.

    I hav 3 control panels siting here but Ive regased it only once. When i swaped the motor out the gas was let go. so it was bone dry empty.

    I have a complete e36 wiring loom here and ive been through every wire and cant find what the fault coud be.

    wher is the pressure switch located that detects if there is gas in it? is it in the dryer bottle?

  11. ITS REALLY HOT! (finaly)

    And my aircon doesnt work. (and it gets so dam hot on the black leather... dam leather!) I have had it recharged, and I have tried 3 diferent control panels.

    Looks like the pump doesnt even turn on...

    are there any typical faults on the system i should check?
