Errr, did you not read my post?
I've talked to Leon Cast (the man at LTNZ who signs off all Special Interest Vehicles) it does not meet the requirements, nor does it pass current emissions test for any other importation categories.
-
You're screwed unfortunately.
I've looked into this, they don't pass the emissions test and they're not really Special Interest.
-
Doesnt matter how u look at it the z4 is a far cooler car & wins hands down regardless of the criteria used
Except if you're straight.
-
as for the Z4M....not my cup of tea, that shape Z4 still screams mid life crisis or hair dresser
I agree, would much prefer an E46 M3.
Sure I appreciate the awesomeness that is under the body, CSL stuff etc, but there's really nothing at all that appeals to me about the shape.
As Elmo has said, I would feel pretty fking queer pulling up to the lights in this thing.
The Z3 M Coupe was a little riskier than the Z4 which I can appreciate.
-
I think it's f**king badass!
I'd take the Mclaren P1 over the Veneno but they're both a sh*t tonne cooler than the Ferrari Laferrari

What's happened with him Tom, do you want me to chase him up?

Josh, this thread my help
http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=41645&hl=
It's one I started when I was looking for a 1 series.
They all ended up being too small when taking a baby into account.
We were then looking at an E90 320i wagon but finally decided the VW Golf Sportwagon was a better option and bought that.
If you're factoring a baby into the equation then I'd not overlook a wagon as the 5 door hatchbacks are far too small.
-
Great pic's. Thanks for sharing them.
Curious about the E30 Group A M3 Super Turismo, great looking car. Can anyone direct me to a website about the series?
^
The link in the post above this is not going to help you Chris.
What is it you're after in particular, the group of cars that I posted pictures about only really get together once a year at Hampton Downs. There are other races that the owner Stephen no doubt races in Christchurch.
Here's some info about the car from a thread he has made on s14power.com
BMW E30 M3 Super Tourismo
I purchased the above car from France in 2007. Below is the information that was posted about the car when it was for sale. Some of the information given was incorrect, such as the gearbox configuration, and when the car and engine was rebuilt. The car was supplied with a large number of spares such as suspension and body panels etc. After sitting for 16 years I went through the car, overhauling the brakes, fitting new belts and changing oils etc. I raced the car at a club meeting and then at an historic meeting. In the second race at the historic meeting the engine starting fuming very badly, which was caused by a cracked piston, which subsequently required an engine rebuild. This has now been completed and I have just finished a four meeting race series where the car has proved to be very quick, and also reliable.
One of only 4 (and the only one still in existence) ex-works M3 Group A. A 2,5 litre car bought for EUR 225,000 as spare parts by BMW-France from BMW Motorsport GmbH.
This car raced in the 1990 and 1991 French Touring Car Championships. It was driven by Michel Ferte and was placed second in 1990. At the end of the 1990 season the car was badly crashed in a testing accident by Francois Chauche, the French Touring car champion for 1990.
The car was rebuilt using only the latest Evolution parts from BMW Motorsport, including a brand new bodyshell at a cost of 90000 Euros. The car finished 5th in the 1991 championships. At the end of 1991 BMW withdrew the team and this car was purchased by a private collector in France, where it stayed until brought to New Zealand in 2007

Tom, turns out this is owned by a friend of a friend in Istanbul (it's black as you probably know)
I talked to him about it last night if you've got any questions. 12,000kms apparently.
I know of one car in Istanbul with about 8000mile asking a tad under 100,000GBP ...(they are also similarly priced in Hong Kong ... so if you want to sell a CSL, send it to Istanbul or Hong Kong hehe)
-
I've got a boat, does that count?
-
Good luck today bargain hunters.
Let me know what the 997 GT3 goes for.
-
Moderators, could you please edit the thread title to the correct year (2013), looks like I need to catch up!
-
PM me if you like Tom, I know someone who is very flash and has made some nice race parts for BMWs

Love the engine shots. The corolla is cool, something different.
That Corolla dominated all day, has done 1:09s at Hampton Downs a few weeks ago.
There wasn't much that could touch it in its class (Group A & Historics) and for the ~$35,000 the guy paid for it it's a lot of car for the money. I think it's a 1998 Corolla, built for the BTCC by Andy Rouse.
-
Went down to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park today for a look around, took a few photos (Group A and Historics mainly )

I want one Tom, but am thinking when I go to the U.K for work this year I'll either buy a CSL or a Sport Evo (can't decide which I want more or more importantly which will be worth more in the future).
So yea, buy one of the two and own it over there for a time and bring it back with me.

E30 M3s for sale on Piston Heads

This sh!t is getting spicy!
Might see you guys at the auction
-
Good price but f@#k me, what is there to like about that interior..... seriously???
-
Why don't you ask the seller.
As for gear knob, you'd be hard pressed to find a genuine Alpina I'm guessing. Sport Evo in Alcantara or normal E30 M3 knobs are easily available though and look sweet
-
Did the bonnet come off?
-
Saw that a few days ago on Pistonheads

Not where I'd push $70,000 NZD landed though, nice car none the less

How about we go halves on the actual car Tom
http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/4420...ce_car_003.html
It's always there on my daily search of BMW race cars (always dreaming)

How far into the E21 project are you Richard?
Do you have any pics of the build so far?
Imported e39 M5 registered as a special interest vehicle in NZ?

No he's not, all you'll get is some plonker receptionist reciting what the stuff on LTNZs website says.
I happened to know him through another source.
Jon, I don't think the 20 year rule will ever apply to these unfortunately.
