  1. Cheers for the day fellas,

Made it there by 1:30pm after my cross threaded spark plug dramas in the morning.

Only managed 2 sessions before of of the front brakes finally cracked (was expecting it but not so soon)

My fastest lap was a 1:15.7 (not my best at Hampton which was a 1:15.1 a few weeks ago) but still happy with that considering the track temperature etc.

Did anyone see me nearly lose it on turn 9 (the hairpin?) I was in the white Nissan R32 GTR. I got completely crossed up and thought I was heading into the gravel.

Good to see some familiar faces and meet some new people.

    * Askan, I think you still have my GPS receiver dude?

  2. Looks like I'm not going to make it fellas :(

The car had quite a misfire out of the blue today so I took the sparkplugs out, No5 has a bit of water corrosion between the top of the plug and the coil.

Now I can't get two of the plugs back in (4&5). It seems the last owner has cross threaded them. I've only got an M14x1.5mm tap to clean the threads so I'm boned for now unless someone has an M14x1.25mm tap I can borrow?

  3. -Pit Garages are availible at $75 per car from Hampton Downs. If you get yourself and 3 mates you will get your own garage otherwise you will have to share.

Josh, Ashkan and Dylan. Are you guys keen on sharing a garage if the weather is not looking too good on the day?

I'm keen on a pit garage but don't want to share with randoms who might go through our stuff while we're out on the track.

  4. According to the Italian article the seat belts broke upon impact ... The structure of the car held OK enough to make it possible to survive the impact. There must have been a mechanical failure of some type with the brakes or steering or both according to bystanders.

I have listen that he have a heart attack before the accident.

  5. Was never a fan of Skylines but i'm now in love with GTRs, you've done a fantastic job so far, well done.

Thanks Greg, I seriously hate Skylines and nearly all things Japanese to be honest.

The GTR is something different though, especially the R32 as it was built for racing....

I'm doing a tour of all things Group A :) , Sierra Cosworth, E30 M3 and now the R32 GTR

I don't bat an eyelid if I see some flat peaker, with his hoodie on over his head in some rangi old R32 GTST etc with a crap blow off valve and stereo up loud so he can gather as much attention as possible.

  6. Small update,

Made some headway into the 'missing' coming out of certain corners at Hampton Downs.

It's pretty basic but should be good for another year or two.

Single Bosch 044 external pump, spare outlet on the surge tank for another external fuel pump in the future.

Apologies for the cellphone pics, will post some higher res images soon.

Tow Hook, looks wonky but it's just the camera angle.

  7. What are the chances of having a "fast" sessions with less traffic for people with serious cars wanting to test what the car can do?

You've got me interested now mate, what is this 'serious' car of yours? :)

*edit, just did the math and realised the name change Graham, be good to see you there mate.

*Josh, grab a 20L jerry can from Repco and fill it up with 98.

I'll have 40L of spare fuel so "may" have some spare but don't bet on it.

  8. if total amount of item exceeds $400 NZD which also includes shipping you will be stung for GST AND customs duty and other stuff..

    This.

But it's not always the case, it's a bit hit and miss with customs and paying duty. Sometimes we get stung on stuff that might have only cost $600, other times we'll spend $5000 on car stuff and it will slip through.

You can ask the seller to devalue the items to avoid taxes but you run the risk if things get damaged or go missing.

  9. Seriously, these guys have no hope.......
