    haha a group brake bleed......haha how sad...yeah sounds good....my place or andrews is prob the best......intermarque concours this weekend......means perfect circle is next week! oh man better get my ticket.....what do u think about the dot rating? is it a very important thing for track days?

    when the car doesnt start it just doesnt start...all electrics work just nothing happens....it usually works if i go inside and yell loudly that i may as well stay home then sneak back into the car and try start it without it looking it normally does....diagonstic machine sounds good to be honest....might have to add that on to the ever increasing list when ernst does my car...i might just do the o rings anyway....the problems not actually that bad...doesnt do it that often and is fine after its warm.... the brake fluid....used the mobil brake/clutch fluid.....dot 3/4??? brake fade is not something im lookign forward to....brake bleeds are easy as.....just need another person...be more than happy to give ya a hand if ya need sometime

    hmm....ANYWAY.......its not a suby forums....they're nice cars....but are a diff class being race bred rally machines (STi versions).....which explains why they so much faster 0-100 shelley......4WD......grant im thinking that if i have leaking injectors cant i just replace the O rings??? it looks relatively easy and imagine new o rings wouldnt be particularly expensive....even a dealer couldnt charge too much for o rings...could they? what u reckon?

    got it checked by ernst at bavarian.....didnt get service...the problem has only happened relatively recently....cars done 161000...not too bad....gonna leave the prob until my car def dies and doesnt go anywhere......got too much other sh*t to pay for first

    im not sure about when but sometime ill be looking for something like this...the little splitter on the bottom....only thing is i dont have anything for u to make a mould out of...would have to be able to clip onto my existing bumper

    hmmmm....ill give the ICV a go when i have my car apart next...tomorrow? can i check for vacuum leaks or do i need a real mechanic to do it? leaking injectors sound nasty? how much did that end up costing grant? if its fine when its warm....i can survive! haah scum...and the other problem is that often i cant start the car....the electronics all work and stuff...and the battery connections are good....im thinking maybe the alternator just isnt working???? any other ideas apart from that? when i say doesnt start i mean it doesnt start...but take my keys in/out or leave it a minute and try again and it starts....its odd
  10. 2 things wrong with the car at the moment....one is as im accelerating (any gear...and not usually after ive been driving a while...normally after the car has been still for a bit) it just sorta stops going before going back to normal...almost like i let off the throttle and back on very very quickly...its not that often to be extremely irriatating....but i dont like it...any suggestions? also my idle is off after driving...its fine at first start up but when i pull up at traffic lights my idle fluctuates....normally around 1000rpm to nearly dead...sounds like im being a scum...im thinking it could be fuel filter? that may explain the first problem....and last....damn i forgot but any help will be great!
  11. grant...andrew will be more useful but the link is around a grand i think....with installation and tuning for your particular car costing around another grand....you can tune it yourself with a laptop but apparently its easy to mess it up and without a dyno you cant measure the gains you make....its going to be the first proper mod i do after ive paid off my car i think...i like the idea of it
  12. yeah thought that may be the case.....i spose there wouldnt be HEAPS of diff....threetwotfive...my 325 has a healthy kick after 3-4000 too....its good isnt it? i love 2nd and 3rd
  13. graeme im not sure as to the definition of chipping....i know replacing the ECU with a Link or Motec Unit means you can get rid of the AFM.....removing a significant restriction on the intake system....one of the things i hope to be doing someday.....makes a car more effecient as well....better for the environment
  14. just been for a bit of a wee drive with the rear bushes in....dont have front ones yet.....but i need more appraisal....unfortunately its really wet now......too be honest its a bit dodge in the wet....the back is a lot more firm.....will more readily wheel spin in 2nd at 70......could be due to the new tyres i have being 195/60R14's (were bald 195/65R14's) but yeah....i think in the dry and doing some decent cornering i will be able to give a slightly better appraisal...looking forward to the fronts going in as well
  15. got it from gmmcormack on this forum with all the bits and bobs attached...from haico at german automotive it was 150....and i got all the attachments to make life easier.....why u want the e36 compact? they use the same rear subframe system....i remember reading something but i cant remember...what u got up your sleeve glenn!

  20. yeah my brake hoses seemed sweet as...no probs there.....um..no photos sorry! .....ive been too dirty/pissed off to take pictures.....in the process of getting the left trailing arm on again....the right went on easy the left is the replacement on...all up cost me a hundy for the arm complete with brake caliper and disc and handbrake cable plus an oil cooler and some misc bits of interior trim.....cant wait to start on the front of my car

Installation for anyones whose interested.....i had to replace a rear trailing arm of mine....ended up getting carried away and deciding to do my urethane bushes......heres how take out both rear trailing arms. remove diff, then unbolt the subframe from the sides and remove...its actually pretty easy and surprisingly light....take the subframe to your local friendly bmw mechanic and get them to press the big bushes in.....go home.....use a drill to non-verbally persuade your old bushes out of the trailing arms...its not hard prob 5-10 mins per bush, now i didnt do this first....but lube up the trailing arm bushes with either soapy water or the lube in the box.....i made myself a press AFTER i put the bushes in....use two big square spacers from place makers and a bolt to go through...use your imagination its not too difficult or just borrow mine....press them in and once they are in to your satisfaction (mine didnt go the whole way in...have to try get them in the subframe tomorrow morn) put the metal bar through and your done....now put the whole rear end back together (it takes a while)....ive still gotta do the fronts tomorrow and ill let you know what the ride is like gus

  24. like dont hit curbs? if u guys want cheap thrills...spray the spray lube of your choice (CRC, WD40...i use inox) on your exhaust manifold.....your engine will smoke really badly....good for at least 5 mins entertainment
  25. hahah......nice work grant...sounds like something i would do.....i dont think i replaced it on my last oil change and no leaking?.....ah well every e30 is different!
