  1. So I needed to do a visit in our offices in Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Tauranga and Havelock North. Fine weather beckoned so I took the Baur on a road trip. Made Palmie in good time from Welly, a couple of hours work and then on the road to New Plymouth, three hours, all good. A couple of hours work there and on the road to Hamilton. Thirty minutes up the road and bang, the throttle cable snaps. No cell phone reception in the valley, but no problem, just jerry rig the throttle to 3/4 open, and off we go! Car cruised happily at 100kph on the straights, but slowed to 50kph on the uphill, down to second gear in places! Downhill was another matter entirely - good thing that BMW have good brakes! And 50 kph through the towns, in second gear, 5000 revs... Anyway, made it to Hamilton and parked up the night. The good folk at Mosen Euro managed to sort it out for me Tuesday morning and I was on my way again. So thanks to Mike and the guys there - I appreciate your help! Be back in Wellington soon with just the sunburn to show for it!
