Andrew 30 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 A DNS server has crashed that will effect access to Bimmersport for the next 24 hrs. If you wish to able to access bimmersport please make the following changes to your computer. Leaving your computer set like this may speed up access to Bimmersport also. So there is no harm in making these changes. If using Windows Click Start > Run - copy and past in: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Open the file in Notepad It will look like the file below - copy and past in the sections about bimmersport. # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host 127.0.0.1 localhost 60.234.73.102 www.bimmersport.co.nz 60.234.73.102 bimmersport.co.nz For Apple/Linux users - you should know how to do it anyway. But the hosts file should be located in: /etc/hosts so as the root user - open your favourite text editor and make these changes.
