LOL!

I've got the towbar.

I used to live in Palmy, so all of my cars have experienced Manfeild....

As for racing - mate, I'm waaay too old for that. Every little bump smegging hurts these days!!

Harden up Bro!! [haha!]

I know dudes that are racing [& winning] at 70

As you age, common sense prevails over bravery [which helps on the track]

You don't want too much common sense though [ common sense & racing seem to contradict each other "financially"]

Bumps shouldn't hurt [impact does sometimes]

Remember: THE MORE THAT I RISK DEATH. THE MORE ALIVE I FEEL!

Looks like this thread has somehow progressed from "what car next" to race cars

It's natural evolvement mate!

All cars should end up in some sort of competition [including demolition derby's]before they go to the great rust pile in the sky

"Anyone can restore a classic,But it takes a real man to cut one up and Race it!"

Thats got the lot, not only are the seats heated but they appear to be a hybrid of the comfort and sports seats. Ive not seen those before. Adjustable about 18 different ways, you should have no back problems with those !

Thats what Id be spending my money on :D

I think an E38 would be backward down the evolutionary tree - they are just not as good as E39s.

Higher end E39s have those seats (mine did)

Rog, what are your experiences with the E39 in terms of maintenance? No doubt a fantastic car to drive, but did yours have many electronics related problems?

I like plenty of room

I love comfortable cars

I love quiet cars

Comfort is more important to me than speed (there's a 100kph limit out there)

My back could be in better condition

I love good looking cars (ruling out Fiat Multipla right there!)

I prefer automatics

I have an budget of about $30,000 to spend (including trade)

I'd prefer 2005 or newer

I wouldn't want to drop too much in terms of handling and ride

A late model Saab 9-5 - they are very good value these days, or a C-Class Mercedes (softer ride and more spacious interior than a 3 series), late model Alfa 156's are bargains too (might be a bit bumpy / tight interior though)

Yuen, only problems I've had have been:

Flat battery - replaced under dealer warranty

Replacement water pump - under dealer warranty

New disk pads all round

pinhole in radiator hose - replaced at parts cost only by dealer

slight water leak in boot.

No other problems at all.

Are you having a laugh ?

e39 better than an e38 for room, comfort and quietness ?!?!
