'SE' e30?

Recommended Posts

What's the difference between a 'SE' e30 and a 'normal' e30? Is it just a better spec'd version of e30?

Thanks Heaps, still learning this kind of stuff!

By SE you must mean the Facelift version. Its just the newer E30. Im not sure of all the changes though. All the parts are pretty interchangeable. Obvious features would be that the pre facelifts have chrome bumpers while the facelift have plastic ones.

Im pretty sure BMW NZ called E30high spec verisons "SE", as in special equipment.

This was definately done with E36's (which usually meant leather, climate air and a few more gizmos). None were ever badged as an "SE" but you will see it on some reg stickers.

Dad's 325i E30 is a 'SE" - "Special Equipment" - Computer, sports interior, Side skirts, mtech2 spoiler.. Few other things which I've forgotten.

OBC

Premium audio

side skirts

front lip

sport seats

sunroof

electric everything

heated mirrors

map lights

big thing to note is that they're usually 4door, due to the fact that NZ got a motorsport version for the 2door.

I'll let you know when Dad writes his car off Penry. Going to use them for re-sealing your quarter window in that road-tank? :)
