tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 As the title says I am getting a grinding noise while im turning hard to the left like you would while in a carpark, it does not do this while steering to the other side. My dad seems to think it could be a wheel bearing or a ball joint that is causing the problem but i don't see how that could be happening. Any advice would be well appreciated Car is a 1990 E30
Andrew 30 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 Perhaps it is coming from the back of the car - CV joint?
bravo 35 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 Do you have stock rims/tyres? It is possible that the steering geometry one way is causing something to hit that doesn't happen the other. Emma experienced this running her under-spaced 17's and before I got my alignment done after bending the rims I had a tyre rubbing on the chassis rail on one side only at full lock. tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 I am Running stock 14" weaves with 195/65/14 rubber, but i am due for an alignment as its pulling a bit left and has been for some time. i might take the wheel off tonight and see if i can see any rubbing on the tire or chassis.
