Timing

Hay guys ive been playing with my 87 528i over the last few months and now ive finally got the engine to turn over it took awhile but now i need to get the timming down so i dont blow the damn thing up does any one how to time these cars if you cant get it started,

also does anyone have a pic of the distrubutor cap with the leads numbered on it cause i copied how my old ones where on but it doesnt look right

Hay most of the time i think but i pulled out all the distributor and never marked where it was sposed to sit so i need to know how to time it manual so i can get the distriputor in the right place. and i dont have the fancy tool or the monie to get a pro to plug it into a bmw service tool to confirm the timming
