Hammond Survived another high speed car crash

Recommended Posts

Top Gear star Richard Hammond has survived yet another high-speed car crash - a year after the 288mph horror smash which nearly killed him.

Hammond, 38, dubbed The Hamster, skidded off the track and slammed into a barrier while racing at more than 100mph at Silverstone for the show.

He escaped serious injury - but it reveived terrifying memories of his rocket car smash on September 20 last year.

Hammond was taking part in a 24-hour Le Mans-style race for the new Top Gear series, along with TV pals Jeremy Clarkson, James May and The Stig. The BBC team were taking turns to race the BMW 330 DTi Sport.

Am trying to find pictures of the damaged car...will keep you posted...

Liked these quotes, all pretty harmless by all reports

"Reports of my shunt this weekend have been greatly exaggerated," he continued.

Hammond also denied reports that Clarkson had given him "a 'comforting' hug". "I would rather be hugged by a threshing machine and he would rather hug a chainsaw," he joked.

Repair ... mechanic works on BMW after telly presenter's crash

It wasn't anything more than a graze, as Styles M5 said.

Bit late, I know. There for people who thought it was a life threatening crash.
