e30 1986

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 1986 e30 and am planning to lower it.

I want to know what would be a good drop to go with, low but not so low that it scrapes on every bump in the road. Also how much it would cost for good springs and shocks.

Welcome. I use 35mm H&R springs with Bilstien shocks and that works fine for me, i personaly wouldnt want to go much lower. Do a search theres lots of topics on this sort of stuff.

H & R sponsor the suspension forum - it is best to ask them pricing on springs.

Thread moved to that forum.

yes 35mm maybe up to 40mm but certainly no lower is a good height to get what you are looking for. Dont under-estimate good shocks to control those springs - opinions vary but the consensus seems to be Bilstein or Koni. Neither of these are cheap so price around (including on the Internet from overseas). I made good savings on mine from Turner Motorsport.

Can a facelift coupe struts/springs fit a facelift saloon?

Or is it springs only or none of the above?
