E46 328ci

Am tossing up some ideas and iv always liked E46's. No i am not buying one any time soon but just wanted a question answered. With the E46 328 i understand they use the m52b28 engine. My plan is because manual E46's are much more than autos is to convert a auto E46 328 to manual. Do they use the same gear box as the E36 328? and if so does everything bolt up?

Cant tell you if they are the same, but I have e46 manual, and can get the box model number off it tomorrow if that helps

according to realoem part numbers, the E36 manual after 6/96 is the same as the E46 manual box, so should swap in?

Another concern. What about all the linkages etc?

Hate to dissapoint but after the e36 manual conversions became very difficult and not cheap.

With the e46, your looking at more than the gearbox and drive shaft change. You'll need to replace sensors in the radiator, looms, gearbox ECU, recode the DME etc etc ...
