schnaarf 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Hi, I've got a 325i touring for sale in pretty good condition. Unfortunately its in England but i'm willing to ship it to NZ or austrailia. Is there much demand for the tourings there? Its diamond schwartz metallic with black leather and abs. BBS alloys, electric sunroof, 12 button obc. please let me know if its worth while shipping it over! thanks

m_power 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 If its older than 20 years it can be imported...and road legal.
bravo 35 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 (edited) Its a facelift, so not over 20 years yet. (Unless it just happens to be one of the really early f/l made in 12/87) Edited December 4, 2007 by bravo
m_power 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Yeah, but never the less can still import it and wait untill it is 20 years old
bmw.maniac 1 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 I thought it had to be 20 years from date 1st registered i.e. Could be an 12/87 but may not have been registered until 1989, and had to be imported after the 20 year wait? (So you couldn't import it when 10 years from date of rego and wait 10 years)
martyyn 2 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Dont mean to knock your efforts schnaarf but the reality is it will cost the best part of 4k just to ship and insure it. Add on compliance costs (assuming its ok to bring in - and I havent seen anyone on here know the exact rules) and however much you want for it in the first place and all of a sudden Ray's touring comes into the equation, so why bother with all the hassle when there is a minter right under your nose just waiting to be bought ? jpp 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 If it came filled with Gus' goodies excluding Gus it could be viable.
Gus 5 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 i take it this is the car Ollie emailed me about? i cant really see it being viable...there is enough tourings in NZ to get one without yours being much if at all cheap. does look tidy, are you having trouble selling locally? m_power 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 so you cant use it? brilliant dude. educate thyself. It needs to be 20years old when it hits the shores. RTFM n00b Well from what iv been told you can import it but just cant use it till its 20 years old. People do that witht he likes of race cars etc. Sure you would have to wait untill its 20 years old to use it on the road, legaly anyway. This is what i have been told by my boss who is a car import. Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 Only way around it at the moment is to re-export and then import it again, otherwise must be 20 yrs when imported.
