e34 535iSE door sills

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, i've found a 535i with rusted door sills, I am just wondering how much these would cost to fix, would it be easier to replace the entire sill? or should I just forget about buying this bmw.

Regards,

Ian.

If its the sills...forget it....If its the lower door panels...still forget it

Cancer in a car is ongoing

Mechanical faults can easily be delt with

Cancer is terminal...as in cancer = rust

My answer to your question would have to be.... "FORGET IT"

yes if its the sills its stuffed , very rare for e34 to rust as they are mostly galvinised body's .

is it just surface (from stone chips)or is it in the seams .

if its a Uk import have seen a couple rusty ones .

i have a mint body shell if needed .

Thanks guys, i've pulled out of the sale.

When I got the VIR done, it said it failed its last warrant (which I knew it would due to the rear centre seatbelt being frayed and the front passenger one not working properly.) But I decided to ask the guy to take it to a VTNZ to make sure there wasn't anything else wrong with it...and guess what came up.

Thanks again,

Ian.
