More interested in the engine swaps

I just might change my mind about my intended new project

Cheers

Glenn

urr.......slightly dumb question, but how much does it cost to get an engine swap done?

i know it obviously depends on what engine you're after, but then you're probably changing your gearbox and all, right?

Im not sure yet Yuen

Definately an E30 this time. I have E30 sites, but just wanted to research a few E36 sites. If you can get it in an E36, you can get it in an E30.

M30 3.5 manual ??

M52B28 manual ??

Supercharged 3.8 V6 Commodore??..... dont give me sh*t about that...just a thought

I'm open to any suggestions

BMW V8's will go in..to many hassles and $$$ for the HP they deliver

60' V engines would be easier V8 or V6

90' V quad cam motors are so wide

I just dont want to go turbo

Getting the right car is the problem at the mo. Its got to be mint or near mint. The one I had in mind (customers) still isnt available because he hasnt bought a new one yet...I could be waiting for years... I'll still buy it tho

I just want to get on with the project

So I'm on the hunt

(1) Heaps to do it properly..even if you do it yourself

(2) Yes the cost varies on the swap you are doing

Do the research, do the maths and then double it

Glenn, my preference would be a M30 3.5 purely for the fun. Mate of mine put one in a gutted e30, (mounted back into the firewall a bit to help balance), fitted 3 twin choke 48's, a radical cam, properly profiled coilover suspension etc. Went like stink, sounded absolutely out of this world and handled like on rails. Had that "animal" feel about it... :P

2.8 motor is too smooth and civilised imo..

just picked up a 89 318ia coupe ,sleightly knocky cam ,borring blue piant , pretty straight no rust . seats worn(easy to swap with good ones) , cracked dash , rest of interior is good.straight front panels ,doors etc . black bumpers faded .leaking steering rack, but pretty honest car .with 15" something alloys, 125k .

about $1k
