Fastest street legal BMW: G-Power M5 Hurricane hits 224mph

A while back we brought you news of a German tuner, G-Power, who was obsessed with breaking records with their 730hp tuned BMW M5. At that time G-POWER was hanging out at the Nardo track in Italy and was only able to reach a top speed of 200mph but said the car was capable of traveling at a top speed of 211mph. Well, on January 31st, G-Power passed both those numbers and also broke the old world record for the fastest street legal BMW.

Testing at the Papenburg racetrack the 730hp G-POWER M5 HURRICANE reached a top speed of exactly 360km/h (that’s 223.6mph) breaking the old world record for the fastest street legal BMW of 331 (205mph).

G-POWER is still planning on increasing output to at least 800, cutting down the 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds of the standard M5 into the low 3 second range and possibly breaking their own top speed world record.
