OLLIE 26 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 BMW showed off its new ConnectedDrive system at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. The new feature allows the driver and the passengers the option to surf the internet by entering a site URL address through the iDrive system or accessing it through their list of favorites. Check out this short video showing the ConnectedDrive in action. BMW ConnectedDrive with internet surfing will be available as an option on production models later this year. Apex 693 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 Cool, I wonder if BMW-NZ will offer this. The Designer said it runs through there server and you pay them a flat fee every year for unlimited internet. I’d have it if it was available and I could afford a new BMW
my_e36 43 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 They've scrapped WiMax in US, WiFi is nowhere near as useful in a moving car. Mobile internet is a joke in NZ (speed-wise). Who/what is going to feed the browsers here? I doubt it will be available here anytime soon.
